But here comes Poll #7 already.

These are olympic champions in certain events.

Imagine that all these champions are on the top of their game at the very same moment in time.

Who would have won gold?

Be aware that the voting ends at Monday March 14th, 8 p.m. CET.

These pollls are like event start lists, who would win, what you think?

Below you can find our results summary and medal table.

Let's vote then!

Table tennis and badminton are pretty clear to me (believe me, I really want to pick J-O, but Ma Long is ahead). Tough pick in tennis, but I ended up going with Serena though Graf was damn close.

Voted for Puig(the first gold medal for Puerto Rico and the most unpredictable winner in Rio), Marin(without any comments) and Long(two consecutive titles).

In next poll there will be first athletics and swimming events.

I know we can just check everyone's PBs and the results should be obvious.

But this whole thing is just for fun, so why not try it? :-)

not following racket sports that closely, but I think Serena at her best was just untouchable, even if she always missed out on the Grand Slam and Steffi Graf instead did the super-Slam in 1988...

but it was another era in Tennis, where the athletic/physical aspect of the game wasn't that dominant as it is since the 2000's...

therefore, my pick is :USA Serena Williams...

in Badminton, I admit I haven't watched Zhang Ning play enough to express a truly qualified vote, so I picked :ESP Carolina Marin as the lone not Asian superstar of the game...

in Table Tennis, I think :CHN Ma Long is just GOAT...with all respect for the many other great players that dominated the sport through the previous generations...

I picked Marin instead of other Chinese players mainly because her aggressive way of play pushing this sport to a new level. It’s more like a revolution. I watched lots of badminton games including other Chinese Olympic Champions and I truly think she is in another level and a model to learn and surpass for younger athletes.

Poll #7 has ended.

The results are:

Event #11 - Tennis - Women's Singles

1. :USA Serena Williams USA

2. :GER Steffi Graf GER

3. :BEL Justine Henin-Hardenne BEL

Here was a tie for 3th place, according to the rulebook I had to pick someone and I haved picked Henin-Hardenne over Capriati and Puig.

Event #12 - Badminton - Women's Singles

1. :ESP Carolina Marin ESP

2. :CHN Zhang Ning CHN

3. :INA Susi Susanti INA

Event #13 - Table Tennis - Men's Singles

1. :CHN Ma Long CHN

2. :SWE Jan-Ove Waldner SWE

3. :CHN Ma Lin CHN

Thanks for voting.

You can vote in Poll #8 now.

Our medal table and results summary will be updated soon.

    • An overall failure for Poland who was supposed to run away with the promotion especially after Spain lost in the first game of the tournament
    • Spring Nationals, Day #2   sleepy and somehow disappointing day in Riccione...until the last individual race of the day, when the unthinkable happened: the next big thing in Italian swimming revealed herself well earlier than expected    Alessandra Mao, in fact, despite being only 14 (not even sure she already turned 14, actually), won the National title over the women's 200m freestyle in 1.58.86    given that she basically doesn't have a decent start nor turns and she's not doing any power training in the gym yet, I hope (and think) she has room to become a world star in the next few years   Today's other champions:   women's 50m back: Sara Curtis, 27.90   men's 50m fly: Lorenzo Gargani, 23.32   women's 100m fly: Costanza Cocconcelli, 58.04   men's 100m breastroke: Nicolò Martinenghi, 59.16 (world champ qualifying time...good to see the Olympic champion back on track, despite not in his best shape both mental and physical); in the same race, Ludovico Blu Art Viberti slept big time in the morning heats and was forced to swim in the B Final, which he won in 59.04 (but since he didn't do it in the A final, the time is not accepted as a world qualifier for now)   women's 200m breaststroke: Francesca Fangio, 2.23.67 (only 7/100 of a second outside the world champs qualifying time)   men's 100m back: Christian Bacico, 53.61
