This also kind of showed, like last year, the biggest flaw of Pogacar: technique and bike control. The way he was wrestling himself through curve after curve where natural talents like Van Aert and Van der Poel (cyclocross greats, no coincidence) were flying through.

Phenomenal Paris - Roubaix, phenomenal finish, phenomenal winner

Finally Van Aert took it, 8 years after he first did the race and had a teammate die in it he could now point up to the sky for his buddy

    Well.

Having gotten it a bit at a distance a few comments about my experiences

    Travel:
Very happy. Flying to and from was a breeze (the plane home slighty delayed). The same can be said about getting around in Milano. Getting around outside was of course slightly harder, especially with some delays back from Antholx (but i guess that's not a big surprise when a lot of people leave a place in the mountains)

    Atmosphere:
Very happy around the venues, but it's also very clear that it's smaller than the Summer games. People weren't following the events wherever you went. Alcohol certainly made a difference between Paris and now. Sadly did experience a few who should certainly have stopped a couple of beers earlier.

    The logistics at the venues:
Very easy to see that Santagiulia is new and absolutely not a perfect venue. Seems like some kinks were fixed when I got there, but there's still stuff to work out. The food at the Milano venues were meh and there were quite some lines. Tesero was a chaos when it came to getting food, but the quality was slightly better at the skiing venues.

On my way back to Milan now.
Will take a look at the cauldron and maybe a bit more "Olympic tourism" before I have a concert in the evening.
It has been a blast and I'm sure that I'll be back for some biathlon in Antholz some day. More generally this certainly won't be my last time going to winter sports (strongly considering the Worlds in Falun next year).

Milano... Well. I guess I'll be back in the future, but mainly to see some of the historic sights and would also love to see a match at San Siro before demolition.

And @heywoodu A dane cheered for @brunamoura. Now you can cheer a bit for Anne today

It sounds just wrong. Winter sport is snow and ice.

If considering reducing Summer Games™ there is another solution: we have Summer Games™, we have Winter Games™, all we need are just Autumn and Spring games™!

All "summer" indoor sports go to Autumn Games™. Questionable are sports for Spring Games™ - but we could find it out.

We can have Olympics™ every year - it is 100% more Olympics™ per year!
And of course, more $$$  for the IOC!

Yeah. Felt rather charming looking for team bases while on the bus
But yeah. Saint-Jean-de-Sixt should be the village for biathlon and cross-country skiing

With 5 Olympic Villages planned I would guess that some will be rather basic as well. Meanwhile it is also partially the nations themselves making those decisions to go for a hotel instead.

That's the danger of having nothing besides sports in your life. Every young athlete needs to be made clear how important it is to at least finish a basic bit of education or something. Sure, Bruna does nothing with her diploma in her job, but...she has a regular job, and with winter being more or less over, she's gonna have a lot to do and I do think that will help avoiding Olympic Blues.

But it's not without reason that Olympic Blues is considered a thing for the athletes. It's rough for us fans, but for the athletes who have been training for it all their life it's often worse
