Ehhh... I wouldn't generalize it like that. Shiffrin, Malinin and Stoddard like you mentioned are struggling with the pressure of expectations. But, there are plenty of athletes/teams that have responded to the pressure (women's hockey, Chock/Bates, Stolz, mixed doubles curling, women's moguls). Sure, there are individual examples of failure under pressure. There will be individual examples at every Olympics. But, I don't think that's a big enough sample size to generalize it to "American athletes". -
Controversy? -
Left his best run for last despite all that pressure. Weston now also has a great chance to become the first Brit to win two medals at the same winter Olympics in the mixed event on sunday!

Oggi dovevano esserci 3 medaglie, ma ne abbiamo conquistata solo 1, ma secondo me, ne avremo facilmente almeno 25. Mancano 9 giorni: 7 medaglie, di cui 2 d'oro, sono reale. Tuttavia, debacle come quelli di Ghiotto e Giacomel di oggi sono impossibili da recuperare in seguito, quindi probabilmente possiamo dimenticarci del 30. -

I can't say that I understand the logic of the draw - it was 2 groups of 4 teams with the top two in each progressing to the semis. I would have assumed that winner of pool 1 would have taken on the runner up in pool 2 but here the winner of pool 1 plays the runner up of pool 1. This means that have to face again. Given they were soundly beaten 5-0 earlier in the week, I don't think the omens are looking good
