He denied this news, but lets wait for official news from POLADA. Anyway it would be big shame for us having at least two athletes caught on doping just week before start of Olympics...

:TUV:SSD:OMA:GEQ:SKN:GUM have received a second universality quota in Athletics, to ensure both genders being represented in their dellegation.

And, for some reason I dont get, :SLE has gotten TWO quotas in the same event, women's 100m.

I love how Guam has schamed the IOC for an extra quota because with 6 female competitors qualified for the games, they decided to name a 7th one with the Athletics universality and now IOC gave them 1 extra so they would have a male in the Games. Smart.

:SSD kinda of did the same. However the IOC gave a 100metres quota to a half marathon runner :smash:.

And she's not the only one, since :SOL athlete, who already competed at the 2020 Games marathon, is also listed as a 100m runner. Hoping those are mistakes and not the IOC and World Athletics forcing marathon runners to do a different event cause..... I expect anything from them....

Maybe a nation will select a hammer thrower to run the 100m to really hammer the absurdity of offering wildcard places in only 3 events (with most nations being defaulted to the 100m).

Then every nation should get a spot in the 100m. :roflmao:

Even though :SRB has *decent* sprinters, we can send a shot putter if you like?

*we are slowly getting faster but not at Olympic level yet.*

But isn't it the nation that decides who gets to use a quota they received?

It's absurd. They broked their own rule of "only 3 universalities in 800" to put there athletes like :SSD Guem, who was just a handfull places behind in the World Ranking of getting a quota place in 1500.

If you are going to break your own rules, at least do it rigth and put Guem and the rest of 1500 specialist you sent to 800 in 1500....

I totally agree. What makes it even more laughable is that in the 1500m there are no lanes so adding a few more athletes does nothing to the logistics of the event.

One of our athletes tested positive for doping, they aren't releasing the name yet, but they said it is a woman and that the first alternate in her event is another Greek (although it may seem impossible at this point for her to compete), so it must be one of the race walkers...
