It seems that Gracenote is very much into the "potion" thing.

That projection seems insane for France. +22 gold medals compared to Tokyo. Not even Japan had that kind of increase (they had +15) and they got a bunch of favorable new events to perform stronger. I am not sure where French sport stands at the moment, but my guess would be in the range of 15-20 gold medals.

That's my estimation as well (and 50-60 medals overall)

I always love those Gracenote predictions, but I wish I could see the data behind the medal tables. I guess we have to rely on media outlets purchasing the data for their country.

I wonder why they overestimate :NED so much again this year (13 golds, 41 medals). There's probably some oddities in there like Sifan Hassan winning in four distances or Annemiek van Vleuten (retiring this summer) winning both road cycling golds. I haven't done a sport by sport prediction yet, but I think 25-30 medals would be a great result already. I'm not even sure if 10 gold medals is realistic.

According to AD newspaper, they indeed predict Van Vleuten winning two medals.apparently their policy is to only discard athletes that have actually quit, not those that have only announced they will do so.

41 medals is not impossible, but very very unlikely. Everything will have to go our way to achieve that goal.

26 medals for Brazil... Well, I think this is only possible if our volleyball repeats the performance of 2022 (We won two medals indoor and 3 in beach volleyball at the world championships) and boxing, gymnastics and skateboarding won together for the least 8 medals. I don't know if I'm confident for that to happen. It's possible, but optimistic.

7 golds I found a little more realistic.
