¡Hola Fellow Totallympics Members!

 

It is with the greatest pleasure that the Mexican Jury is once more submitting  an entry

for your consideration for this edition to be held in the beautiful city of Apeldoorn.

 

This time our selection, taken since last October, it's in line with a number of fellow entries

that have decided to take a trip to past times and share with contemporary audiences their

country's unique legacy in music.

 

As for the Mexican song itself, we are proud to announce a musical arrangement and lyrics 

that convey a wide array of feelings, if sadness and nostalgia are the prevailing ones. But

don't let this description predispose your senses, as this melody written originally to honor

and remember the absence of a mother's love, has equally being related to the feeling of

a passionate relationship, both situations most people in the world can relate to.

 

Written in 1970 by Robert Cantoral, this ballad was powered by the amazing rendition

of Mexico's "Song Prince", José Romulo Sosa Ortiz, better known as José José a name

that probably doesn't ring a  bell outside Hispanic nations, where he was greatly admired,

before passing away on September last year.

Holy shit, the original US video is blocked literally everywhere except the US. 

 

@Olympian1010 The second video that you posted is available everywhere, you should replace the original video with that in your  announcement post.
