So we have new leaders!!!

@Wumo @mrv86 CONGRATULATIONS!!!

And at this very moment I'd like to say that what is @Wumo doing here on totallympics, organizing all these polls here is pretty outstanding. I can imagine how much effort you put into it and - well - MILLION THANKS FOR THAT. My little stupid polls are nothing compared to your work. Many thanks from me and a lot of other users, I guess.

BREAKING NEWS

insidethegames.biz just spread the news that jury d'appeal decided to add 0.75 pts to @Dunadan score for famously picking @hckošice as a winner in a snowboardcross (Poll #6)

https://totallympics.com/topic/12414-winter-olympic-games-beijing-2022-poll-6-day-6-who-will-win-mens-snowboardcross-final/

this is because @Dunadan couldn't obviously predict that @hckošice will DNS because he will NOT BE ALLOWED to perform by the jury due to coming to the start platform - hmmm... how to say it... not very sober...

that awful thing happened because he was supposed to join Vlhova Team Party the day before for only 15 minutes, but well...

IOC spokeperson says those are only rumours

but what-the-hell... we add 0.75 pts to @Dunadan in our rankings already

New rankings coming soon

PS. For :GIB :GRL fans:

This whole thing is A JOKE, you know ;-)

Thank you very much for your very kind words, @rafalgorka:) .

It does take time to organize these contests. However, it's worth it all as I see many want to participate in them.

Sorry to tell you, but this is a horrible pick. Top 10 would already be a very good result for her (this is not downhill).

Why isn’t Goggia an option?

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • Wish I could say the same, for me it’s rare when there’s a day that there’s absolutely nothing on for me to watch There’s even stuff on Christmas (NBA and NFL), although usually in the days leading up to it there’s less sporting events going on.
    • Gravel world championships     And ski jumping Summer Grand Prix, just finished catching up on an insane season of Red Bull Rookies Cup, still lots of NASCAR to catch up with and with this weekend being a bit of a slow one in terms of live sports (and the MotoGP/2/3 things being in Japan and so being done and dusted by 9am my time), it's so far been a weekend with lots of catching up

    • To be fair, the only way to make the qualifying day shorter is by allowing fewer athletes and I really don't think that's a good trade-off for the sport. Qualifying day can be the biggest spectacle one can imagine, it's still not going to draw amazing viewing numbers anyway, since it's basically just laying the foundation for the weekend.   Ice resurfacing definitely takes a while if done properly, if pushing it they could maybe get it done just under 15 minutes or so. I'm a little afraid it goes the way of athletics, where things are pushed more and more into ever shorter formats. Shorttrack days and sessions can only realistically be made shorter if they spread a World Cup out over 4 instead of 3 days, but it's not like Thursday is going to be a massive audience day.
