intoronto reacted to OlympicIRL in Totallympics International Song Contest Discussion
The other thing I will put to a vote is about allowing more than one nation to host a single edition, i.e. the option to co-host. It is something @intoronto wanted us to discuss and it would be useful to gather the views of everyone on this. It can be teased out further to determine what co-hosting means (2 nations, more than 2), should there be some sort of geographic or cultural link between co-hosts, or should it matter?
Let's discuss

The story is very bizarre.... Be prepared...
The reason Deni was so adamant to bring his family because he claimed that only his wife know what kind food he need daily. The food from his wife is deemed too much by the nutritionist and it caused an issue. After a negotiation, he finally rented an apartment for his family and follow the nutrition program like other athletes... but now he doesn't want to stay in the national training center Also the federation found out that he also worked part time as a personal trainer, thus making him often not giving 100% during training. He said that he did that because he was having a financial difficulties, which was very likely true because he is the only guy in the national center who doesn't get monthly allowance from the government civil servant program. Why? Despite he won gold in 2017 SEA Games, he is not admitted as a civil servant because his ex-wife appeared in national TV and said that he is having an affair with a woman who is now his current wife!

it always takes time. but I think maybe this is taking longer here. I'm not sure though.
the whole process is stupid. when a coach wants to challenge, he had to call the referee, tell him the whole story (while most of the times it's obvious what they are protesting about) and then that referee again had to repeat all he heard for the jury .that alone takes a minute.

intoronto reacted to heywoodu in [OFF TOPIC] Politics Thread
Ah yes, I've seen quite a lot of articles talking about the protests and police brutality there, but not on big news websites indeed. Only on some obscure blogs like The New York Times, BBC, Reuters, CBS and a few others nobody has ever heard of.

intoronto reacted to MHSN in Karate Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games
@Benolympique @intoronto
for me Karate is impossible to predict, maybe @phelps can help you guys here but in Karate anybody can beat anybody. this is a very competitive sport around the world.
normally you can look up the ranking and take the next best 3 athletes as the favorite for quota in France. but I know there are lots of good athletes very low in the ranking simply because they gave up trying to qualify through the ranking. and these K1 events were only open to the best 64 in the world ranking.
