Ivanie Blondin has WD from women's 5,000 meters.
Magdalena Czyszczon takes her place.

Bychenko flopped in figure skating but Szollos vs Gower in alpine combined could decide the outcome of this poll?
- rafalgorka and Einarsen

Nasty fall for
Yannick Chabloz.
-
Loic Meillard even slower than the Irish guy
-
Pinturault basically a second off Schwarz & Strolz & 1,92 behind Kilde. Getting a medal will be a challenge?
-
Kilde 0,75 faster than Strolz. Obviously not enough for slalom IMO.
-
And that will do it. Gold for Kim, silver for Castellet & bronze for S. Tomita!

I voted for the wrong guy but can't undo the choice
I picked someone else in the predictions contest.

Queralt Castellet moves into 2nd place.

Liu Jiayu won a silver medal in Pyeongchang? Can't land anything today. Guess home pressure but yeah, this is bad.

Women's half-pipe might be even less competitive than women's SBX. This is really a low-hanging fruit event.

As much as I personally like the combined (esp. compared to events like team parallel GS), how can it be contested at the Olympics with ZERO world cup combined competitions this year? It's practically non-existent these days.
FIS wants to kill off the combined event and doesn't even host it on the World Cup. They want to promote parallel events instead. IOC still keeps combined in the programme but I won't be surprised if it's axed after 2026 and makes way for the parallel event (which might be the most unfair event ever due to clear difference between courses as evident by last year's Alpine World Champs).

Longevity is no longer an asset in the women's division. I'd be shocked if Russia fields a female soloist aged 20 in competitive skating in the next decade or so. Even being 17yo could be deemed as 'too old' for winning. It also doesn't look like Japan, USA or Canada can mount any pressure either.

Congrats.
That Was our goal, but yeah, dream was gone already in the 1s run
Yeah, this is obviously our most competitive event in luge these days. They finished 12th in Pyeongchang.
They're the highest ranked crew from a country that doesn't have an operational luge track

Wendl/Arlt make it three in a row. Eggert/Benecken just can't win at Olympic Games.

No Chinese in the final so I guess we might avoid shady DSQ. How many stay upright in the end is a big mystery though.

Kim Boutin crashes out of the lead 5 meters before the line

Uno had 10 points advantage after SP so maybe not.
