One more medal for Sablikova.
-
Wiklund would need to beat PB by six seconds to beat Sablikova?
-
Front flip on landing and
loses gold?

Nordic Combined has been about Germany, Austria, Norway, Finland & Japan for the last 30 years. USA & France have tailed off and we have random field-fillers from Italy or Czech Republic. The competition hasn't really changed much since like forever

curiously, he won a gold and a silver medal, but both of them in 1968, while he didn't get anything in both home Games...
He was probably too young to win one in 1964 and too old in 1976.
Moreover in 1968
was still the luge king however a
judge DSQ all three female East German lugers for heating the runners so maybe the DDR men actually didn't do it which enabled Schmid to win on even terms.

Why is Trimetazidine not a performance enhancing substance but still banned? It’s a bit odd that something like is not classed as performing enhancing if it needs to be banned.
Because it's classified as a stimulant (diuretic) which can cover up other banned drugs (steroids).

If Alessandro Pittin continues his career until Milano 2026, he will have competed at two home Olympic Games. I wonder if he would then become the first Winter Olympic athletes to do so?
There might be some Austrians competing at both 1964 and 1976, but I'm not sure. In Summer Olympics there are of course some Americans that competed in both LA and Atlanta, Carl Lewis and Jackie Joyner-Kersee just to name a few.
Manfred Schmid competed in luge in 1964 & 1976.

In cross country I'll cheer for anyone except

Andersson is better than Karlsson Today. However Karlsson and Andersson were the best skiiers behind Johaug last worlds so it is not always true but yes something is generally wrong.
Kowalczyk said Karlsson probably gassed out in skiathlon. Andersson was a non-factor there so I guess she had more energy stored and still couldn't do much.
-
Johaug screaming like a total idiot. Well, she'll be 34yo soon so this was her last chance to dominate WOG.

Sweden
Justyna Kowalczyk said Sweden seems to have the same problem for years, they're peaking early in the season and then in March again. If not for sprint depth this would be another complete failure with even Karlsson unable to save it. Ebba Anderson is completely nowhere.
-
Thankfully Norway has depth problem. And obviously it's hard to cheer for Johaug the Lipstick Speciallist.

-
Niskanen only 1,3 secs ahead of Johaug at 8,6 kms. The Duracell bunny will hang on IMO.
-
Kerttu Niskanen 11 secs ahead of Johaug after 6,3 kms!

Not going to be Jess Diggins’ day, already shipping time.
Diggins is poor in classic. She stands no chance in this style.

Haemmerle pips Grondin for the win by 0,02! Visintin gets bronze after Lueftner made a mistake on one of the last banks.

So is it completely random when the best athletes start in this event, or do they have some rules about which bibs they can get, like in alpine skiing?
Even numbers are seeded (best athletes from World Cup) until #60 Nepryaeva. Everything after #60 will be field-fillers & exotic qualifiers.

In that case we might as well get rid of the big globe too.
Doing three events is the new four. Even Hirscher competed in Super G when he felt pressured in the overall.
