Feller was late & later and missed a gate three turns from home so Top 10 for Filippo Della Vite as the best Italian

Brennsteiner takes the lead from Kristoffersen. Five to go...

Like who's going to believe in European Parliament having any integrity as they're embroiled in a massive corrpution scandal right now?
Or is Eva Kaili & friends swept under the carpet already?
-
Meanwhile
appears to be racking up 7th places at best. Not like anyone notices that. I'm afraid Julia Kowalczyk's career has stalled after the early promise so it's anyone's guess when/if we'll become relevant in this sport again

Schwarz 0.58 faster than Odermatt. Those DH runs sure helped his stamina IMO.

1:20 minute giant slalom run... going old school here

Well to begin with it seems difficult because she plays an early match in SF even though she finished after midnight local time. Meanwhile Kudermetova vs Swiatek is later even though one played the first match of QF and the other didn't even play...
Reminds me of Guadalajara where Maria had to play SF and F in one day, while her opponent in the final (ironically also Pegula) did not have to.
It's because Pegula is still in the doubles and will play the final later today as well. If a player has a singles & doubles match on the same day the singles match is always first on the OOP.

2:05.70 in 800 meters so Hall missed WR by nine points...
5,004 is the new AR but probably there's more to come in the future
-
2:05.10 in 800 meters required for WR. Her PB indoors is 2:05.33...
-
Anna Hall is only 13 pts behind Dobrynska's pentathlon WR after three events at the US indoor nationals...

Doha 500 semi-finals are set:
Iga Świątek vs Veronika Kudermetova
Maria Sakkari vs
Jessica Pegula
Świątek had a bye in R1, destroyed Danielle Collins 60 61 in 52 mins in R2 and had Bencic walkover in the QF
Sakkari showing some strenght as she beat Garcia in final set TB few minutes ago...

We can't do much about it, you know.
Btw, I prefer alpine than biathlon ofc
But if you dig deep you will find some BLRUS in alpine skiing WCH as well, I'm afraid...
Russia has been a non-factor in alpine skiing days since the Zelenskaya & Gladishiva days tbh. Khoroshilov was a total aberration but he would have probably retired even w/o the ban given his age. The bigger drama would be Vic Wild in freestyle skiing but I don't follow that stuff to know if he's still active?
Belarus is what it is, I suppose Darya Domracheva isn't getting kicked out of Norway anytime soon even though she was working for KGB during her career

Yes, ofc.
tell us sth we don’t know already 😉
good we still have some good sports this week, alpine and biathlon and whatever anyone likes
Let’s enjoy it while we still can
You mean biathlon with
represented by Russians?

Much ado anbout nothing so far. I'll be amazed if anyone actually boycotts Paris 2024 but it's long away enough that a lot of countries think they can bluff IOC with a weak hand. Watch that tactics ho nowhere the closer we get to 2024. NBC didn't pay billions of dollars for TV rights to have no US athletes involved either

Samuelsson took the lane that hasn't cleared the targets yet so he had to move over. And that clearly unsettled him. Italy will hang on for bronze.

JTB says bye... Komatz silver... Giacomel on the penalty loop...
-
Penalty loop for Boe!! Giacomel & Komatz take the lead but JTB can still easily catch them...
-
Olsbu goes clear in the last stand while Hauser & Vittozzi need spares so JTB gets 8 secs lead on the last leg...
-
Austria, Norway & Italy with 30 secs lead at half-distance.
-
Krcmar with two penalty loops on the first prone
-
Italy leads after 1st exchange. Poland's Anna Mąka the only one who didn't need a spare round. Haecki & Remenova on the penalty loop. Lithuania with TWO penalty loops already...

I was the only one who picked Shiffrin-Brignone gold-silver GS combo?
It was hardly a swing for the fences
