  1. Overall a pretty good session for Argentina, let's see how many medals this translates to.
  2. It would be a disaster if Canada failed to qualify in jumping. There's more quotas and no United States competing for them...
  3. Yeah, less than half showed up to training camp. I wonder how many of those people will show up if Canada somehow qualifies to the Olympics.
  4. Well at least that's fair. Other than the monstrous time it will take to run the event if other nations follow suit.
  5. Do they at least select which riders will compete in the team event ahead of time?
  6. Based on the notice of race they only need one race. That sounds wrong, but I guess with medals and Olympic quotas on the line they wanted some results.
  7. Unsuprisingly Kiefer takes gold in fencing
  8. Table tennis is the most important today as it doubles as denying Brazil another gold. We need all the help we can get before Brazil starts taking over in men's swimming.
  9. Looks like it's gold
  10. The other option is that they extend sailing until at most Saturday.
  11. Still lots to go for 2nd-7th place with over half events remaining, but athletics and swimming make up around 1/3 of the remaining medals.
  12. Tunisia is the defending champions and on a good day I wouldn't be surprised if Algeria caused an upset, plus Angola's men are starting to take this more seriously. Definitely not an easy Egypt win.
  13. What happened in the last 1.2 km? Canada was leading by 48 seconds at the last time point
  14. Big opportunity for Thailand/Kazakhstan to qualify to the Olympics. It also makes the Italy/Netherlands match all the more important.
  15. That's the reality, our continent isn't full of world class athletes like Europe. At most you are going to see a small handful of strong athletes/teams. It's no different than the Asian Games.
  16. That pretty much seals it for Canada then... Well at least we'll qualify two individuals through the rankings.
  17. To be fair, China isn't guaranteed to send a team either.
  18. Well one/two riders meeting the requirement is bad because they can take the individual quota. For India it would be best if Thailand either had 0 or 3+ riders meeting the requirements.
  19. Because if Thailand can't qualify a team they can take an individual quota meaning there will be one less spot for the region.
  20. Well you better win gold then
  21. Women's 10m platform quota either goes to Mexico or no one as it's doubtful we'll see a surprise in the final by the other eligible nations.
  22. Tough game. Was secretly hoping would win to make it easier for the Canadian women to qualify
  23. Yeah, surfing is more replay friendly thanks to editing. I don't think an event needs to be audience friendly to be in the games.
  24. Correct, for whatever reason it registered in my head that you won gold in women's 1m springboard.
  25. Here's the top 10 medal table of the 2015 Pan Ams using events already competed here. 1. Canada - 30 - 23 - 16 2. United States - 26 - 22 - 28 3. Cuba - 23 - 13 - 9 4. Colombia - 15 - 6 - 19 5. Brazil - 10 - 10 - 19 6. Mexico - 7 - 14 - 18 7. Venezuela - 3 - 12 - 8 8. Argentina - 3 - 11 - 13 9. Guatemala - 3 - 0 - 2 10. Chile - 2 - 2 - 5 Canada obviously took a hit in the gold medal column thanks to not sending its strongest team, but also suffering here are Cuba, Colombia and Venezuela. On the flip side Brazil, Mexico and Argentina are performing better, but Mexico is getting an extra boost due to the new events added to the program where they have currently won five gold medals from their current total of 17.
