  1. There’s a World Cup fantasy competition organized by my town newspaper, with nice prizes for whoever ends in top three. My prediction was Argentina +5 - 0 Saudi Arabia I also predicted Argentina would be the one who scored the most goals in the group phase, and Saudi Arabia the one who would suffered the most goals. I guess I can forget about the prizes now haha
  2. Is this a record for disallowed goals?
  3. The tribut of a Portuguese football fan to Taremi after he scored those two goals against a England
  4. I found funny the sequence of events: Some weeks before world cup - Hey guys, we're not homophobic, but just let's focus on football Few days before world cup - Hey guys, it's FIFA again. You want to wear armband, ok, i propose some alternatives that do not offend the homophobic hosts, like "footballUnitesTheWorld", "saveThePlanet" or any other crap like that. One day before world cup - Ok, either you not wear those rainbow things or you're getting a yellow card!!!! I wonder if they still decided to wear it how would it work. Never focus the camera on the captain? Showing the armband painted in black, as censored?
  5. Interesting first match today, when that goal was var-cancelled I was like “oh, here we go! Handball World Cup 2015 again!” but then was happy that Ecuador managed to win im curious to see what the Oranje will do do tomorrow, some bars near my house are already prepared for the match also, I can’t be the only one that thought this when seeing the opening ceremony
  6. i like this one better haha
  7. true, the fact is also that people remember more the goals than the saves. Rui Patricio and Portugal defense were the heroes in Euro 2016 final and yet I will always remember Eder, that random guy who did nothing in his career but was the one who scored the most important goal of my country.
  8. Not really though, otherwise I think some Iranian dude would be the best using that goals metric. Still, to those that keep pushing to “my favorite is the best ever” discussion I just say “don’t discuss and enjoy football “ I for sure did enjoyed the past years watching those two monsters playing
  9. fans killing each other because they are pro Messi and pro Ronaldo and look at them having fun and enjoying the fact that they’re the greatests of all time. What a fantastic picture this one.
  10. Ok, to be honest, I think a side note must be made. this was horrible on purpose, part of a tv show that makes fun of Portuguese soap opera and has this fake band, Jesus Quisto (a pun with the name Jesus Christ in Portuguese) where they sing badly English songs This World Cup song was created in the same way, so it’s ridiculous on purpose making fun of cringe Portuguese stuff (Mourinho, Ronaldo, all the other cliches haha)
  11. A cringe song for a cringe tournament, sounds about right haha
  12. I believe it, i really do.
  13. Not sure if they are singing or secretly asking for help to be able to return to their homes :-X
  14. I remember that world cup. The Qatar team with only foreign players, the foreign fake fans hired from Spain, the horrible referees… I wonder how it will be in football and if also they will manage to reach far as they did in handball lol
  15. “Portuguese supporters” are already in Qatar for the World Cup
  16. Looking at how Ronaldo is right now I hope he injures himself somehow as the coach will never not put him playing and he's way worse than others right now.
  17. I would say italian teams and Villareal are the big favorites for the UEFA Conference League this year
  18. Barcelona vs Manchester Utd, how weird it is to see such a big match in the playoff round of an Europa League! Also good draw for the only portuguese team.
  19. Obviously would like for Portugal to win but while the "Ronaldo monarchy" endures (where it is stated somewhere in the constitution that he always has to play from the start in every match) i fear there will be no chance of anything special for this WC. Apart from Portugal i will obviously cheer for our "brother nation" Brazil, although i think Argentina will take this one,
  20. Probably one of the best draws for Portuguese teams since maybe 2004. Benfica against the "weakest" team (brugge), and Porto against a strong opponent, but yet not one of the big 5 (City, Liverpool, Madrid, Bayern, PSG). And also from those big 5, at least two will be eliminated in the next round.
  21. Hey guys! Sorry I missed my voting time! I really liked the Greek song and the polish one, and the Swedish song just brought some memories of my student years so had to stay high with the points Didn’t checked yet who did, but I see that some points were already given to Portugal so thank you! I’m glad some liked it, it’s specially meaningful due to be such a traditional thing from my culture, from my city, and from my very own university
  22. Not a Benfica fan (my only red team is Ajax, in Portugal i'm blue for Porto ) but I can really sense something good coming out this year for them, it's delightful to see them play football. And we can get yet again another Real Madrid - PSG hehe
  23. Really impressive the amount of historical big teams that got relegated to Europa League this year. Now we get why they wanted that Super League so bad haha I'm expecting a return of Ronaldo to Lisbon, and really hoping Roma gets Ajax so I can see my favorite coach in the world here at the Arena (last time i saw him was in 2003! )
  24. Portugal celebrates with our “povo irmão”! Adeus bolsonaro!!!
