  1. No I’m talking about the reaction when the goal is scored like “and there it is, goal to Ajax” (example). It always looks like it doesn’t matter, it reminds me of this meme haha
  2. In Portugal we have three minimum (one main commenting, the second saying additional things, and a third one in the field saying additional useless stuff), and sometimes 4 with someone else in some other place of the field doing the same useless thing. it’s horrible, absolutely too much. on the other hand, and although I’m not a fan of screaming commentators, Dutch commentators are so without emotion, sometimes I feel they simply don’t care that a goal was scored haha the biggest shock is sometimes where almost a minute (or more) passes without no word being spoken by the commentator. I’m pretty sure the guy there is just checking his instagram during the match 😂
  3. Enzo Fernandez! One of the reasons I believe Benfica will go far in champions league this year!
  4. But that’s normal right, there’s always some extra excitement with big stars like messi, Neymar, ronaldo or mbappe
  5. judging from the first 4 minutes i say this has the potential to be a great match!
  6. One of the things I love the most here. yes people like football and yes a lot of people are crazy about their Ajax or feyenoord or whatever but at least you don’t have a NOS Journal where the first 30 minutes of an hour and half tv news show (yap, that long, with a commercial break even) are for talking about football and football clubs. here I can stay away from football if I want (except oranje stuff). In Portugal is unbearable :-(
  7. We also have three sports newspaper (although they are mainly football newspapers, barely any mention to any other sport there ) and each sells their soul for each of the big three clubs (Porto, Benfica and Sporting) so it's totally toxic media. I still remember when Nelson Evora won a golden medal in Beijing 2008, which, let's put it in the right context, was only the fourth (!!!) gold medal in total olympic history of Portugal, and one of such newspapers put this as cover The fourth gold medal in our history. The cover goes to some random interview to a Benfica player.
  8. And they will also leave the world cup after this match. Bye bye!
  9. See this is what I feared: the guy scored, and I know is good to notice he’s the only (man) to have scored in 5 World Cups, but he was not the hero of the match yesterday. And with the newspapers and media like this it will only make it impossible for him to go to the bench where he should be.
  10. Respect for the commentators of this match haha
  11. so we have the goal of the tournament. no need to look for more.
  12. this looks like the type of match where it is difficult for brazil to score the first, but if it does, a lot more will follow
  13. Time for the 4th team i support in this tournament (after Portugal, Netherlands, and Spain).
  14. Iñaki Williams from Ghana and Diogo Costa (portuguese Gk) at the end of the match
  15. It's 2022 guys, that ship has sailed some years ago. I still believe without him the team is much better than with him. I like him in the bench, doing speeches and giving support.
  16. Well can't complain about lack of goals on this one
  17. men i hate this, now we'll never gonna get rid of him. Fingers crossed that he'll be replaced by Gonçalo Ramos that nowadays is so much better than him
  18. I’m wishing some ghanese decides to make a terrible tackle and he gets injured for the rest of the tournament. he’s good to have at the bench like a motivation token, nothing else now
  19. Fun fact: did you knew that since the 2010 World Cup, Portugal has only won 3 World Cup matches? (North Korea, Ghana and Morocco)
  20. there are so many good players, I think the team is really strong. But the Ronaldo dependency is not good… I think his presence is good, but should be that kind of player that comes in for the last 30 min or so max
  21. Without Ronaldo. Portugal playing without Ronaldo plays as a team, and is - in my opinion - very very good. Not Brazil or Argentina good, but good. With Ronaldo, the team plays entirely for him, and they suck doing that specially with an aged Ronaldo....
