  1. Barcelona vs Manchester Utd, how weird it is to see such a big match in the playoff round of an Europa League! Also good draw for the only portuguese team.
  2. Obviously would like for Portugal to win but while the "Ronaldo monarchy" endures (where it is stated somewhere in the constitution that he always has to play from the start in every match) i fear there will be no chance of anything special for this WC. Apart from Portugal i will obviously cheer for our "brother nation" Brazil, although i think Argentina will take this one,
  3. Probably one of the best draws for Portuguese teams since maybe 2004. Benfica against the "weakest" team (brugge), and Porto against a strong opponent, but yet not one of the big 5 (City, Liverpool, Madrid, Bayern, PSG). And also from those big 5, at least two will be eliminated in the next round.
  4. Hey guys! Sorry I missed my voting time! I really liked the Greek song and the polish one, and the Swedish song just brought some memories of my student years so had to stay high with the points Didn’t checked yet who did, but I see that some points were already given to Portugal so thank you! I’m glad some liked it, it’s specially meaningful due to be such a traditional thing from my culture, from my city, and from my very own university
  5. Not a Benfica fan (my only red team is Ajax, in Portugal i'm blue for Porto ) but I can really sense something good coming out this year for them, it's delightful to see them play football. And we can get yet again another Real Madrid - PSG hehe
  6. Really impressive the amount of historical big teams that got relegated to Europa League this year. Now we get why they wanted that Super League so bad haha I'm expecting a return of Ronaldo to Lisbon, and really hoping Roma gets Ajax so I can see my favorite coach in the world here at the Arena (last time i saw him was in 2003! )
  7. Portugal celebrates with our “povo irmão”! Adeus bolsonaro!!!
  8. What a fantastic season from Benfica in champions league Also this could be the very first time three Portuguese teams manage to reach the Last 16 stage (Benfica and Porto are qualified, Sporting can still dream)
  9. i meant the other way around: Spanish with only one team and Italians with only two teams haha Gonna edit the comment, thanks for noticing that out
  10. Very surprising champions league this year. Based on current standings only one spanish team would qualify, and only two italian teams would qualify, quite a surprise to me. Also quite interested with what Benfica can manage, they're playing a very good football nowadays. Still I think the biggest surprise is Napoli, it's absolutely delightful to watch their football, even as someone cheering for ajax
  11. Same, usually i have my 12 and a couple of others high above in such a way I start listening to it in a daily basis, but this year feels that it does not have that good match with my musical taste. But of course that can change with multiple listenings
  12. really? disappointing times for our national coach then, guess we'll need to figure out some other way of doing the "leaving the qualification decision up to the last minutes" tradition
  13. general response from Portuguese people in social media: “perfect group to go to the playoffs”
  14. I love this traditions. In Portugal, or in Lisbon at least, is common to go in parade and then stop altogether when a lady is seen at the window (special it is old lady) so that everyone puts on their knees and sings a “serenata” (serenade) of love to the old woman, who always gets emotional and happy. So nice!
  15. Portugal Did you know that in Portugal there is this ancient tradition (based from our student city, Coimbra) where university students dress in special clothes like this? If you walk through any Portuguese big city during September/October you'll see hundreds of students dressed like this, and a fun fact is that it was actually this traditional clothes that inspired the Harry Potter's world Hogwarts vests. I'm bringing this story because, apart from dressing like this, students get organised in traditional Portuguese university musical groups, called Tunas Académicas, where they go play and sing across the country during the school year. So this year Portugal proudly presents a truly traditional Portuguese song, from the University Student music group of my own University (IST), which is called TUIST (Tuna Universitária do IST). P.S - I was actually in the audience during this video's show (thousands of years ago haha ) TUIST - Se um dia não houver luar
