  1. So this will be the first time since 98 Portugal wont be in a World Cup. It is sad, but well deserved. The manager did a great campaign during the Euro 2016 but should have left after that. He's killing a generation of great offensive players with a disastrous defensive mentality and with a too much dependency of Ronaldo, who might be the best in the world, but that is getting old so it's time to give space to others.
  2. It's funny he says that when he was the coach when this happened Sporting needed just not to loose this match to keep the first place, and thanks to loosing this match they were passed Benfica, who kept winning the remaining matches and became champion at the end. Jorge Jesus was Sporting coach at that time :D
  3. I don't remember that, but i think i was accused of something similar when i gave some high points to the Netherlands, due to living there
  4. This is super interesting! I knew i voted sometimes for some northern african songs but didn't knew there was this relation with Tunisia, i'm guessing Myrath and Emel Mathlouthi are responsible of this (that performance of her singing in the nobel peace price concert.... it's breathtaking....).
  5. They participated for the first time in this past local elections i think, they got into coalitions with more likely to win political parties, i think they managed to put one or two guys using that strategy is some villages. I'm out of the country so i don't see outdoors or campaigns, but unless they have a very good strategy i doubt they will get any decent result next January.
  6. hmm there are no Volt electors in Portuguese parliament. I don't think they will be able to elect any on the upcoming elections in january either
  7. Good to know! I dont give that much importance to points (i think you guys now already know i'm more about sharing different types of portuguese music every year, even though they are not winning material), but i reeeeally love when some of you guys like the song as it's usually something that is part of portuguese culture
  8. Since we're having this break i'll just use the opportunity to share a song I will never be able to neither send in a TISC (i'm not brazilian ) nor send in the Festival of Music as fortunately Brazil always takes part on the contests. But i really liked it when it came out so here it is
  9. Well in the meantime i think i can share some thoughts from my top 12: 12 - - one of my fav bands when was teenager and spent my whole summers in Spain, it could hardly get less than 12 points 11 - - folk music is my thing, and one of my favourite things i love to learn with this contest :-) 10 + 9 - and - so difficult to choose between those two, really love them, have both songs stuck in my head! 8 - - looks a lot like a soundtrack music, of which i'm super fan (if one day Germany decides to send Hans Zimmer, 12 points from Portugal are inevitable haha) The rest of the point songs (, , , , , , ) were quite nice as well, difficult to sort as i found them ok but none too special. Anyway, really liked this edition, many non-english songs and quite diverse styles
  10. But seriously congrats to the host, with all the difficulties and problems he still managed to get the contest starting. And I don’t mind if it ends in some hours, tomorrow, or whenever, we’re all having fun and that’s what matters
  11. Your call is very important to us, please hold [insert customer service waiting call music]
  12. oh crap i thought you were delivering it already! i ruined the suspense haha, go ahead please
  13. Oreja de Van gogh is one of my favorite bands from when i was a teen so this was a easy huge 12 from the moment i heard the song
  14. I'm just here, but gonna leave soon, too bad i was not in time for deliver the points. Anyway, loved my top 3 entries!
  15. there are so many other nice Dutch songs out there! I say stick with Dutch language songs
  16. This song is a nice way to "learn" Icelandic while seeing parts of one of the most beautiful countries of Europe! Iceland Inspired by Iceland - The Hardest Karaoke Song in the World
  17. Nice contest, it wasn’t difficult to choose the top 12 this time. also this made me go and listen to the past contests and realize we share really good music here every twice a year!
  18. So sad this was not a valid entry, i love anavitoria (they even represented Portugal in a previous TISC )
  19. Yap, I actually never see the videos until after I gave my points just to avoid being influenced by the videoclip (unless i absolutely love the song of course hehe)
  20. Classic Portuguese way of winning, by suffering until the last second
