  1. You know, after more than 5 years living here i got used to this thing of not having almost any national holidays. But the 5 of May not being one of them, i just find it really weird... i mean, it's not even like celebrating independence from centuries ago or some random religious stuff, it's the day you were liberated from nazis, the most evil thing ever! Hope they eventually change it to a yearly national holiday (On the other hand, the May 4th two minutes of silence is actually impressive, really nice tradition)
  2. PORTUGAL As someone living abroad, the annual edition is always a challenge for me as each year i feel i'm getting further away from "what's happening in Portugal", specially in music. Still, and although not a huge fan of this song, i chose it because of what it means: the good relations between Portugal and the other Portuguese speaking countries I have no idea if this is also normal for other nations (like spain, england, france), but i find really cool that whenever any other Portuguese speaking nation is playing anywhere, in Portugal the big majority of people supports those nations (when Portugal gets kicked out of the 2022 World Cup, for example, i will with no doubts cheer for our "povo irmão", Brasil), and the other way around is also true (the celebrations in Angola or Cape Verde when Portugal won the Euro were amazing). I really like this friendship spirit, and i think this song is all about that David Carreira - Vamos com tudo
  3. Gallego!!!!! I love Galicia: nice people, beautiful language, delicious food.... :D
  4. Why? Isn’t the tradition that the host team plays the first match, after the opening ceremony and all?
  5. Interesting draw for Portugal: - Uruguay, the team who eliminated us in the last WC - Ghana, we got eliminated from the group stage after playing with them in 2014 - South Korea, also eliminated from the group stage after playing with them in 2002 It’s gonna be a tough group!
  6. South Korea vs Portugal…. Gives me PTSD from the traumatic 2002 World Cup… hopefully will not end the same way this time
  7. True, but that might be because I might be the only one that wants the Netherlands in the group instead of usa/mex (it’s where I live, I like them, so I’m always hoping for POR vs NED matches )
  8. I think I’m gonna hope for a group with Portugal, Netherlands, Canada and Saudi Arabia then!
  9. When is the draw? And is there any rule for same continent teams, like a group of let say Portugal, Netherlands, Korea, Saudi Arabi would be possible?
  10. Love hate relationship . he makes our super offensive team playing defensive, even against teams like macedonia, which I hate. but he delivers, which I love.
  11. Congrats to Poland as well! I’m a bigger fan of Sweden but also love Lewandowski and to be honest World Cup without him would not feel right!
  12. On the WORLD CUP Btw, it will be his 5th World Cup! (And last , I hope, enough is enough). can’t forget this guy though, got us the Euro and now another World Cup qualification
  13. SIIIIIIIIIM!!!!! Portugal again in the World Cup! Good that CR7 will be able to put an end to his amazing career in the national team at the greatest stage of the world!
  14. Can’t judge this, if I was not Portuguese I would for sure cheer for Macedonia, they are amazing. Dont know why but to me this gives me vibes of Greece in Euro 2004 (not a good feeling for Portugal haha)
  15. No Itália, no turkey, no Austria, and no Czechia Amazing macedonia, hopefully Portugal keeps their head otherwise their gonna be out as well
  16. Honest question: why do they do it? Just because is in greek, filmed in greece and with greek sounds? And is that also the reason Cyprus give always the 12 to Greece, or that one is just political? I've always been curious about this eurovision "tradition" haha
  17. selection is here, a young MARO with a song about a very portuguese word, Saudade. TISC fans will recognise her inspiration on Cape Verde national icon Cesária Évora with her Sodade.
  18. Yeah I’ll participate, will have to spend some time listening to Portuguese music first though, not sure what has been released last year. But yes, count in
  19. Portugal is European Champion again After an epic recovery against Spain in the semi final, again another recovery against Russia resulted in a 4-2 score at the end. Portugal is now both World and European Champion!
  20. Carlos Queiroz (now coach of Egypt) is only the third Portuguese to ever reach a final of a football continental competition
  21. He still managed to get a jury hearing in record time, to try to appeal it. So I think he will eventually stay, i don't have too much faith on justice here (only hope), rich famous people always have ways of cutting corners :-/ You can follow it here btw https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-14/novak-djokovic-updates-blog-visa-decision-alex-hawke/100755958
  22. Well that escalated quickly haha But he can still appeal right? Or is this Djokovic soap opera finally over?
  23. Really good start for Cape Verde and Guine Bissau!
  24. Better than the first movie this one
