  1. They participated for the first time in this past local elections i think, they got into coalitions with more likely to win political parties, i think they managed to put one or two guys using that strategy is some villages. I'm out of the country so i don't see outdoors or campaigns, but unless they have a very good strategy i doubt they will get any decent result next January.
  2. hmm there are no Volt electors in Portuguese parliament. I don't think they will be able to elect any on the upcoming elections in january either
  3. Good to know! I dont give that much importance to points (i think you guys now already know i'm more about sharing different types of portuguese music every year, even though they are not winning material), but i reeeeally love when some of you guys like the song as it's usually something that is part of portuguese culture
  4. Since we're having this break i'll just use the opportunity to share a song I will never be able to neither send in a TISC (i'm not brazilian ) nor send in the Festival of Music as fortunately Brazil always takes part on the contests. But i really liked it when it came out so here it is
  5. Well in the meantime i think i can share some thoughts from my top 12: 12 - - one of my fav bands when was teenager and spent my whole summers in Spain, it could hardly get less than 12 points 11 - - folk music is my thing, and one of my favourite things i love to learn with this contest :-) 10 + 9 - and - so difficult to choose between those two, really love them, have both songs stuck in my head! 8 - - looks a lot like a soundtrack music, of which i'm super fan (if one day Germany decides to send Hans Zimmer, 12 points from Portugal are inevitable haha) The rest of the point songs (, , , , , , ) were quite nice as well, difficult to sort as i found them ok but none too special. Anyway, really liked this edition, many non-english songs and quite diverse styles
  6. But seriously congrats to the host, with all the difficulties and problems he still managed to get the contest starting. And I don’t mind if it ends in some hours, tomorrow, or whenever, we’re all having fun and that’s what matters
  7. Your call is very important to us, please hold [insert customer service waiting call music]
  8. oh crap i thought you were delivering it already! i ruined the suspense haha, go ahead please
  9. Oreja de Van gogh is one of my favorite bands from when i was a teen so this was a easy huge 12 from the moment i heard the song
  10. I'm just here, but gonna leave soon, too bad i was not in time for deliver the points. Anyway, loved my top 3 entries!
  11. there are so many other nice Dutch songs out there! I say stick with Dutch language songs
  12. Portugal voting right after Netherlands, seems accurate for me!
  13. Georgia Ensemble Bravo Metehi - Ranina
  14. This song is a nice way to "learn" Icelandic while seeing parts of one of the most beautiful countries of Europe! Iceland Inspired by Iceland - The Hardest Karaoke Song in the World
  15. Nice contest, it wasn’t difficult to choose the top 12 this time. also this made me go and listen to the past contests and realize we share really good music here every twice a year!
  16. So sad this was not a valid entry, i love anavitoria (they even represented Portugal in a previous TISC )
  17. Yap, I actually never see the videos until after I gave my points just to avoid being influenced by the videoclip (unless i absolutely love the song of course hehe)
  18. Classic Portuguese way of winning, by suffering until the last second
  19. I'm gonna keep hoping on both yes, although extremely unlikely
  20. Their song about 11-M is just..... no words for that.....
  21. PORTUGAL As always, I choose to use this contest to show every year a different part of Portuguese music. Last year I showed something from the North of the country, this time I share with you something from the South, from a less known area between Lisbon and the south beaches of Algarve (very popular among the british ). This region is called Alentejo, it's the biggest region of the country, but has a very low population density, with either villages or small cities spread around a landscape that is very typical of this area, with different traditions and costumes than the rest of the country. It was also from Alentejo that were many of the men who, more than 500 years ago, went on ships traveling on sea journeys across the world, to places they don't even knew if they existed, and not knowing also when or if they would return home. This song is precisely that: the Alentejo way of singing (which is actually UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage) and a song about the mens who are leaving to the sea and hope to return one day to their homes. PORTUGAL Vitorino - Vou-me embora, vou partir
  22. Indeed! All five gold medals were in Athletics actually: 2 in Marathon, 2 in Triple Jump and one in 10000m.
  23. I woke up at 4am to see this and it was totally worth it! GOLD! F***ING GOLD!! For mostly everyone it’s something normal but you need to realize Portugal, in ALL history of Olympic Games, had (before today) only 4 gold medals! So this fifth one is a really huge thing It also sets Tokyo 2020 as the best Olympic Games ever for Portugal: neve before had we managed to get more than three medals at the same edition!
