  1. Yeah but since there was a war with the african countries, one could fear that a bad relation could result out of it between people. But I'm really happy that it ended up being the other way around, with Portugal feeling the support of our "brothers", and portuguese cheering with happiness when the other portuguese-speaking nations win
  2. I love this. We portuguese (the majority, i want to believe) also always support Brazil, or Angola/Moçambique/Cabo Verde/Guinea Bissau on their own competitions. I remember in 2000, when Moçambique got their first gold medal ever with Maria Mutola, everyone was watching the final race cheering for her
  3. Have your countries (the ones who qualified for the euro) official songs for the Euro? Portugal's song mixed voices from other countries like Ludmilla and Giulia Be from Brazil and Preto Show from Angola , and shows flags from all the other portuguese speaking nations, our brother-nations, as we call them
  4. 1. Which two teams will reach the final – and who will win? France and Spain 2. Who will win the Golden Boot? Kylian Mbappé 3. Who will be the surprise team of the tournament? Ukraine 4. Who will be the breakthrough player of the tournament? Bruno Fernandes, i hope 5. How far will your national team get? That depends. If they win a match? Group phase. If they draw all three? Then keep drawing all the way until they become European Champions! 6. What are you most looking forward to, on or off the pitch? Watch a match at Johan Cruijff Arena 7. What are you most concerned about, on or off the pitch? That corona ruins the tournament
  5. You just survived a global pandemic and want to waste it by diving there?
  6. I experienced an interesting thing related to this when i was visiting Armenia: groups of women who would come from Iran to "experience freedom", dance and drink and have fun without issues. We met an armenian girl who was tour guide there, and she sometimes got shocks when she would pick up iranian girls at the border, full dressed and covered with burkas, leave them at hotel, and then when she returned to the hotel to pick them for the tour she would never recognized them because they would be dressed without any religious clothes....
  7. I enjoyed this edition in a way i did not for the past years! The music was nice, the acting was cool, eccentric and with lots of classic eurovision what-the-hell-am-i-watching moments, really nice! Was cheering for the french girl, the ukrainian crazy song and for whatever was that icelandic awesome thing, but Italy was nice as well UK with zero points was not a surprise (could have happen to the dutch or german songs as well). I wonder if they'll eventually gonna revolt and leave Eurovision as well due to be so terrible all the time.
  8. So, according to Perez: “Nobody has yet paid the penalisation fee for leaving the Super League. We are almost all still in this, they have not officially left yet" You know, I was only joking with my theory that Florentino Perez had done this SuperLeague madness in order to get the money to buy Mbappé for Real Madrid, but maybe I was not that wrong after all!
  9. Florentino Perez right now hahaha
  10. This was simply a genius masterplan from Florentino Perez: 1- Convince 11 other rich football teams to sign for some special league; 2- Expect the world to react in fury 3- Wait for those rich clubs to resign by paying some contract-breaking clause fee 4- Use the money to buy Mbappé for Real Madrid!
  11. So...... should we close this thread already?
  12. Meanwhile the logo of the future European Super League has just been announced! ?
  13. Yeah basically that. I think people will revolt and protest and complain but in the end everyone will still watch the Barcelona vs Juventus or Real vs Man Utd and the clubs will probably gather more money from it anyway. I'm also - just like probably everyone - against the super league but if the difference for the clubs are millions vs billions it does not surprise me that they go for it. Also it's quite funny to see greedy UEFA screaming in fear with the prospect of loosing the ones that (i'm guessing) bring them the most money
  14. Congratulations, you cracked the secret code! Great contest, congrats to Canada for the win! It wasnt my favorite but was one of the bests, well deserved! Hopefully Portugal will be able to do better in future annual editions, although it's difficult when i'm now listening to more dutch music than actually portuguese hehe
  15. oh wow, so "many" points haha Can't say i'm surprised as the song was not that good. Unfortunately i think this will happen more often on the annual editions since i barely hear (new) portuguese music anymore But nevertheless, thanks to those who liked it! And thanks for the songs i put in the top, thats the best of this festival, finding new songs. And i really liked the Finnish music!
  16. And she got the gold! Amazing, Telma monteiro is definitely the best portuguese judo has ever had
  17. Unbelievable how Telma is able to pull yet another medal in an European Championship.... That's her 15th European Championship medal!
  18. So nice of you, to put the dutch in a place where one of the attractions is a canal so they can feel more at home
  19. Out of my mind i just remembered these three:
  20. Yeah that's a pity, the more i live here the more i appreciate the language so i got disappointed every year when i open the dutch song and realize that it's in english Specially when there are some quite good songs in dutch
  21. Since we're already in the Festival of Music period, and although i know is something that does not usually belong to this festival, I want to take this time to pay some memory respect to a former participant of TISC competition, Sara Carreira. Together with her brother David Carreira, she participated in the 2019 Annual edition with this song "Gosto de Ti". Some months ago, on this past December, she died on a car accident with only 21 years old It gave an additional special meaning to this particular song, that talks about the love between those two brothers and how the physical distance between them does not affect their strong connection
  22. Btw is there a place where we have the entry names from past editions?
  23. Portuguese points are done. The top three was very easy, top 12 as well, only problem was to sort it from 4th to 12th but after hearing it again it got clearer. But overall i think it was a nice edition
  24. Well I spent quite some time looking through maaaaaaaany portuguese songs from the last year and the truth is... I did not particularly liked any of them! I mean i found a nice song from Barbara Tinoco but she already appeared in the last contest and those who participate for some years in TISC know i like to send something different every year, sharing a bit of Portugal every time. So I thought of not participating this year, but then i found this girl, with a song that is nice and that is talking about Lisbon with pretty images of the city, and ended up choosing it as this years Portugal entry Even if you don't like the song i hope the video will make you add Lisbon as one of your first travel destinations after the Covid madness is over! PORTUGAL Nena - Portas do Sol
  25. Some are portuguese, but most are not the genre i would like to share. But i'll find something eventually!
