  1. Draw for Nations League is done. League A has quite interesting groups, with potentially really great matches. This year each group has 4 teams instead of 3 like on the first edition, probably because Germany ended up last on the previous edition and would have to go to the League B, which does not happen now that each group has 4 teams haha
  2. We dont have dubbing culture, and when i was a kid I used to think that was just a spanish thing, until I travel further away and realised we were actually the "weird ones" as most of other countries were dubbing haha Some family of mine lived for years near Barcelona, and I still remember the shock of having to go to the cinema watch "Bruce Almighty" in spanish.... I mean, Morgan Freeman... speaking spanish......
  3. Really sad that there is nothing for Portugal, but if it was I would guess that it would be that.... we are always complaining?
  4. I honestly think that many countries where you travel to and then realize not many people there speak english (france, spain, germany) is not because they don't know or they don't learn, but because there is no real practice level, as everything in foreign language is dubbed (tv shows and movies). From all the places i've been to, the ones where english was better spoken was Sweden, Denmark and The Netherlands. Guess what they have in common? No dubbing culture!
  5. I saw a priest wearing a mask yesterday in Nuremberg while giving mass. Kind of useless when you see that everyone left the church and took turns touching the "holy water" and putting it in their face
  6. we have two finally. Pastel de nata reveals to not be as not invencible as it seemed haha
  7. it’s quite frequently on the radio on the past months, but it’s horrible (for my musical taste at least) so better keep it that way haha
  8. yeah one of the reasons I like it is because I can easily understand their Dutch haha kind of like the als het avond is, also easy to get for Dutch beginners. still I’m glad your choice didn’t went for hij is voor mij
  9. cant say anything about this song yet, but I can tell which was the 2019 song I was addicted to and that it would probably receive maximum points from me: Hoe het danst, from Marco Borsato and Armin van Buuren
  10. Coronavirus reached amsterdam, second case in NL. Also my gf works in Picnic (online supermarket chain) and since yesterday they are having an unusual huge spike on demands for orders, specially on sanitary products...
  11. I live above the rivers (or at least some of the rivers haha) and here also no one celebrates carnaval. But i find it funny that they celebrate in the netherlands in a very similar way as portuguese celebrate, with parades of "cars" made by people and made with funny/mocking stuff, and with crappy carnaval music (we use the crappy music in the summer festivals though, carnaval we use brazilian music haha) This is how it looks in the most traditional carnaval town in Portugal, for example
  12. Portugal still has no cases. And for you to understand how stupid media are about it, here’s a “BREAKING NEWS” alert with a non-news saying that “there are still no corona cases in Portugal”
  13. Weird carnaval?? It’s super cool!! I went this year to the ones in Den Bosch and Breda, good thing I skipped Tilburg
  14. I dont know about positive tests/total tests ratio, but there is this nice dashboard with info regarding the infected places, deaths but also total of recovers from the virus https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
  15. Portuguese media are getting desperate and extremely frustrated, as lots of nations have already a Coronavirus case in their countries, even in Spain or Brazil, and nothing appears to happen in Portugal. Every day they came up with more possible cases that ended up as negative, which makes our media very sad Maybe Pastel de Nata (portuguese typical pastry that we ate regularly) works as natural repellent of the virus?
  16. So, one more time, here is the entry of Portugal for this year's contest. Since I live abroad it was a good excuse for me to listen to a lot of portuguese music from the past year, most of each I did not like it. I did ended up finding this song, and this singer, which I now like quite a lot, so already a win to me on this TISC 2020 Bárbara Tinoco - Antes dela dizer que sim
  17. Portugal is in of course! Although I will miss the final, will be somewhere in Mexico on that date
  18. Just saw that Portugal entry singer for this year's TISC also is participating in Eurovision 2020 selection, although i dont think it will win. I would bet on this song instead, since they are pretty famous in Portugal
  19. Well my biggest surprise was when while we were listening to the top on the radio in my work, suddenly on one of the last days a song comes up in the top: "Gotta catch them all, Pokemon!"
  20. Although i'm a huge fan of country music so that definitely would be in my top as well haha
  21. I was actually expecting to see which song would you put in this contest. There is one from last year which is still stuck in my mind everytime it plays here in the radio but can't tell which is because i don't know if we're still having a contest or not haha
  22. so the guy just did a rage quit because israel wanted to join? now i wonder what would happened if israel would won.... hope the contest still go on btw. dont even mind of waiting more time and have the annual contest, maybe with more nations involved. Personally I prefer having no gifs but having a truly multicultural contest with all nations that want to compete where we all just enjoy music and watch the suspense of the voting day
  23. As someone who's a bit far from all this war, i'm actually enjoying the polemics, it's like having one of those shows after football matches where some experts comment on the matches of that week Still wouldn't mind if those who do not participate would share songs, at least on the festival of music. My personal gain from this contests are actually the new unknown songs/artists i get to know from all around the world every year
  24. I think his participation was approved a few posts ago by @OlympicIRL Plus it's nice to have new nations on the contest
