  1. It's going to be a manic weekend for motorsport fans. We have: - F1 and it's support series at Silverstone - MotoGP and it's support series at Brno - Formula E in Berlin - Superbike/Supersport at Portimao - Motocross returns in Latvia - European Le Mans Series at Spa - GT World Challenge (former Blancpain) at Misano
  2. Agreed. Not a fan of the sporting policy of hiding the images, whether it's cycling, motorsport, football etc. It happened live, everyone saw it, they can't undo it. It's not like they were showing a grotesque close ups on the injured people. It was a replay of what led to the accident. Like you said, better to have an understanding of the circumstances, then to hide it and we get the same thing next month/year.
  3. First night and first match of the UEL return and already a surprise, as Copenhagen powered through Istanbul BB. Definitely thought the new turkish champions had this in the bag, especially with Copenhagen's lackluster finish to the league. But the real show is Inter - Getafe. Let's go Nerazzurri
  4. Fan video from the crash. It stops at the end, but people should still be cautious, if watching.
  5. That was some serious crash. Gronevegen channeled his inner Cavendish stupidity there. There was a photographer completely obliterated by Jacobsen Eurosport were showing slow motions. Imagine if there were more people at the finish like a usual race. I don't see that much of a problem with finish, it was just Gronevegens moronic behavior. He very much knew and saw Jacobsen going inside with a higher speed and deliberately blocked him to get the win. It could have been a 30 metre wide road and he could have done just the same...
  6. Well the word on the internet is that the rules aren't that strict in Palermo.
  7. Wow Beirut, is it 2005 again...

  9. Looks like it was a fun race. Too bad we didn't see anything of it on TV
  10. Kurt Maflin with the middle finger at the WCH Something i never thought i would see from a snooker player.
  11. Expected much better from Thepchaya, but guess Ronnie was on one of his unstoppable runs this afternoon.
  12. I have seen more safety cars in these 4 races than probably in 2-3 years prior 2010. This sport has become so boring on every level....
  13. Netflix can take away content in a flash and you won't see it again. Unlike your DVDs, where some rare external situation will only take away the content. I personally have used option C - the internet for 13 years and never regretted it. Whenever you want, whatever you want, how much of it you want. PS. Long form TV and movies are not going to disappear, it's absurd. There is actually way more stuff (more bad stuff) being put out there, making it physically impossible to keep watching everything. I'm actually glad in a side way that the pandemic stopped the industry, because now i can catch up on so many shows.
  14. Yes, i don't know why they couldn't have Donaldson take his spot. Maybe because they still have to pay Anthony the round 1 money, or maybe because it would be unfair to the other FQR losers.
  15. The Sheriff of Pottingham Anthony Hamilton qualified for the first time in 11 years and now has withdrawn, because they are letting fans in the Crucible.
  16. Are they toxic, because of your personal views on the matter or you have private discussions with the Bulgarian girls? Please share your contacts, i would very much like to meet them! Because they have always said the their coaches are like a second mother for them and are grateful for everything they have given them. Rh gymnastics is by far the most popular sport for girls here. BY FAR. Every little girl wants to be like the Golden girls, because they are of our most cherished athletes in general. Everyone knows how hard it is to make the team. The girls know it, the parents know it. There is harsh training, there are many sacrifices, there are big regimes, there is immense pressure. Like in pretty much every other sport.. If you want to be the best, you can't dilly-dally your way. Everyone knows what to expect, it has never been a problem. Also, about the 20 thing. Don't know about other countries, but here, the statement that the federation/coaches dismiss the girls when the clock turns 20 is also a false accusation. In Tokyo Vladinova will be 27, Taseva almost 24. In Rio, half of the ensemble was 25. In London, Silviya Miteva was 28. Is Bulgaria sending these past their prime athletes, because we don't have anyone better ?! Each girl retires when they want to. No one is stopping them deliberately, because of their age... They can continue how much they want to, but after 1-2 Olympic cycles they want to focus on other stuff, like finishing they education, starting a family, making a change in their life etc. Because in Rh gymnastic there is the Olympics and only the Olympics. The program is for 4 years. This is not football, volleyball or tennis with the Grand Slams, where you can say "Oh i will stay one more year". If you are 22-23 and don't plan staying for the Olympic cycle till you are 26-27, then there is no point in continuing. You are crafting 3 years the compositions and athletes preparation for the next Olympics. And the girls know this very well and if there is no help needed to make the transition, they are not staying for one more Euro/WCH that brings nothing. If you think (or want) the sport to be one of those, where we have the same names competing for 20 years, i'm sorry but it just doesn't work like that. The sport is not build like that. 1-2 Olympic cycles is what you get from the top nations. It can't be from 18 to 38, unless you are a small nation and that one athlete is what you only have.
  17. Only the opening game had somewhat good numbers (A rerun of NCIS does 4 million viewers usually). After that it was back to under 2 million, which for a population of 330 million is awful however you look at it. I know American TV watching is dying hard, but with all the sports talk the previous months, you would expect a few million bump. http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/skedball-weekly-sports-tv-ratings-7-20-7-26-2020.html
  18. No, this is our permanent (and only ) velodrome. They can't move it, even if they want. But the venue is almost never used for cycling, but for other sports like volleyball, basketball, taekwondo, boxing etc., because the middle part is big and can be transformed for whatever is needed.
  19. There was so much talk of "4 months without any sport in America is heartbreaking. Americans love their sport, we need to have it back ASAP, they can't live without it. The TV ratings are going to be huge when they return!" Well, baseball is back and i saw the TV ratings for the first games and they were God awful. Maybe even lower than last season. And there is no attendance at games. Where are all those nationwide sporting fans and how are they watching their sports???
  20. In a completely non-existent sport here, Plovdiv will host the European Track Cycling Championships this year. The dates are 11-15 November. They are expecting around 35 nations and over 300 athletes, but let's wait and see what will be the situation by then.
  21. Russian and chinese athletes are like "Is this all you've got"
  22. Dancing Dimi is in it to win it. No nerves yet in his first Major final. Gary should have to fight for this one and with a better play, because he is sloppy so far.
  23. Everyone, who hasn't, should seriously watch Broadchurch. I've watched series 1 and 2 the last week or so and i'm so impressed. Don't know how i've slept on this so long. Fantastic cast, superb writing, everything you need for perfect mystery drama series.
  24. In what are rare volleyball news these days, CEV are going ahead with the European U19 girls and U18 boys championships. Today they had the draw for U18 girls, which are competing 22-30.08 in Croatia and Bosnia
  25. Smith getting progressively more annoyed that he can't get a lead on Rata
