  1. I know it's not the most trustworthy place, but Wiki has us receiving both FS125 and GR130 quotas from reallocations? Someone know where this is coming from and any truth to it?
  2. So, the first week is going to be even more crowded, given that athletics airs 6-7 hours a day, while swimming is around 3.5 hours. Just make it 3 full weeks for Pete's sake!
  3. ^ If anyone still had doubts about the quality of these Euro Champs
  4. From time to time you hear such stories and it's always baffling how top athletes can get big injuries from everyday home life. Huge blow to the UK. They will have a good substitute, but not on Archibald level good.
  5. I can't get one correct match score at this Euro Had Portugal winning 3:1, but that is not happening too.
  6. There is no reason to have this event, not this week, not this month, but this year as a whole... It's a complete joke and devalues the European Championships. The swimmers don't want it, the fans could care less, most TVs don't show it... You can name it "Random Belgrade meeting number 4" and hardly anyone could tell the difference. Swimming has one of the worst Governing bodies, when it comes to organising their events and calendar.
  7. Most people thought this would be the dullest match of the first round and a probable 0:0, but it turned out to be one of the most interesting. Georgia should have equalised at the end.
  8. To add to this weird diplomatic conversation, that is happening, i think we have a pretty good vibe with Romania in present days. Definitely bonded much more in the last 15 years in our quest to be equally screwed by "EU Proper". I think we have only 2 bridges between us, but the traffic is like for 5. Every weekend i see dozens of Romanian cars, when i drive to the countryside house. If i had to rank the relationships between the neighbours (both people ones and political ones). Excellent: Greece Romania Pretty decent: Serbia Moderate to low issues: Turkey Abysmal hating: Macedonia.. The Black sea is pretty chill too.
  9. First thing i thought, when he made the first miss was "Lukaku is going to fumble a hundred situations in a tournament yet again, isn't he "
  10. Thanks! Unfortunately we won't get any additional woman's quota. I would have preferred it over Ivanov's in the super-heavyweights, who has no chance to medal. But still, a plus one is a plus one.
  11. To think our NT made 0:0 with Romania and 1:1 with Slovenia 10 days ago, while Romania are demolishing Ukraine and Slovenia drew with Denmark
  12. So? For most of these athletes it's going to be a once in a lifetime experience, even for those in their 2nd, 3rd OG it's going to be unique riding a boat through Paris. How is this worse than standing in the stadium for 3 hours.. Unless you have starts on Saturday morning/day, there is no reason not to attend the opening ceremony. The question is how many boats will they use for the French, US, China etc. delegations?
  13. Really weird how this is their first Euro since 2000, but in the meantime they have qualified to 4 World Cups, which is supposed to be much, much harder.
  14. Rudiger already busting people's fantasy teams. Like myself...
  15. It's been 5 years now, can't this guy just move on to a different site
  16. And i was thinking it would be a tough match for Germany, given that the opener is always a more nervous one.
  17. The name wasn't the problem, unlike the structure, calendar, marketing, participations and everything else..
  18. Whoever beats the Africans in the 10 k gets my praise.
  19. It's awesome to see many manufacturers return, but i would have preferred, if they kept it to 2 cars per team. There is no need for 3 AF Corse or Porsche cars, given that other teams use their models as well.
  20. Bulgaria and medals, not really hand to hand this century. I was very pessimistic for Tokyo and somehow we got 6 medals. If we get the same, or even more this time, then it would be another success. And speaking of potential medalists Boxing - Javier Ibanez , who is actually Cuban; Taekwondo - Kimia Alizadeh , who is actually Iranian; Wrestling - Magomed Ramazanov, who is actually Russian; Wrestling - Semen Novikov , who is actually Ukrainian; Wrestling - Aik Mnatsakanian, who is actually / Georgiо-Armenian Anyone else wanting international participation can apply in their local BG consulate As for the medals: Rhythmic Gymnastics - probably 2 Weightlifting - 1 is almost certain, with a chance for a second; Boxing - this could go from 1 to 4, very much depending on draws, referees etc.; Taekwondo - good chance for 1; Wrestling - not confident here, 1-2 if lucky; Very outside chances in fencing and shooting. Kostadinova hasn't been steady in the past year or so, and shooting has one of the tightest competitions, so getting a medal like in Tokyo is going to be a miracle. I'd say a final tally of 6, with 8 if we have a positive outcome in some sports.
  21. Remember when Australia had their trials in March & April and by the time the OG came, their form had mostly passed. The Australians surely don't want to
  22. Tamberi could be in the top 3 (top 5) most recognizable athletes currently in athletics. Lots of people will be stopping him in the Olympic Village.
  23. BNT here hasn't shown 1 javelin throw yet. It's been all high jump and triple jump, with some 10 000m in the last hour.
