That's what bugging me too. Hard to believe that Greece got 2 in men's weightlifting.Maybe he fell out of the top 15? Or he failed a doping test. Who knows lol

Thanks for sharing! This covers the withdrawn quotas + unused individual quotas.
Some seem a bit random though, for example Uruguay in women's.
@konig like we said, there is always a hope for doping reallocation in weightlifting.
And Greece got a men's spot (even though their athlete is in the top 15 ?)
This also removes a lot of wild card countries and also increases the chances the chances of countries like Bangladesh to get one.

" If the NOC qualified through the 2014 and 2015 IWF World Championships, the quota place will be reallocated to the best ranked NOC at the 2014 and 2015 IWF World Championships, not yet qualified."
- So we are looking at:
Men:
+1
Israel
Austria
Belgium
Nauru
Libya
Mongolia
+2 more (as more than 2 are tied on 0 points).

I strongly suggest that you don't visit Tonga any time soon.

Completely unfair as they modified the qualification criteria after they were published... originally players (including tripartite places) were supossed to compete in at least 3 tournaments to be able to play in Rio.
Yea, the BWF wrote not eligible beside his name (then updated it ).

Any of the four (Canada/Serbia/Spain/USA) can beat any team in Group A imo. Unbalanced.

I think Group B is the group of death!!

Sri Lanka got a win

Go Samoa, Spain qualfying would be as bad as France qualifying in water polo

The 20th Africa senior championships will take place from 22 to 26 June 2016 in Durban (South Africa)
many african teams/athletes do the fasting
so this calendar is totally crap
Why should the calendar be affected because of that? Usually Continental championships happen in June and provide a last chance for athletes to qualify for Rio... -

So the virtual medal table got updated and it knocked Canada down further to 15 medals. I can't remember which ones got dropped. I may be a tad optimistic here but I think that is on the low end. I think we may see more success in Swimming and Athletics than we have in the past, whether or not that leads to more medals though remains to be determined.
I also think its highly unlikely that Canada takes gold in the women's Team Pursuit, which we are predicted to.
I don't look at Gracenote's virtual table. Its full of errors lol.
Anything above 18 medals will be a success for Canada.

IWF didn't announce them innocent, as I wrote in my first post, they only finalized 11 out of 24 cases. they only finalized cases about few countries with one exception Lovchev, which means his case is a bit complicated. for other counrtires like Kazakhstan, Moldova, Belarus and North Korea for reasons we don't know it takes too long.
So what is the likely quota reallocation?

is the continental cup only for NOCs that didnt qualify anyone through the rankings or if an NOC qualified one team they can qualify second one through the continental cup (like germany on the men side for example)
" they can qualify second one through the continental cup (like germany on the men side for example)" - that one

Can someone do a quick recap on how qualification for this works. I've tried to follow along, but I just don't get it.
The countries that have qualified do not count for points. So if you finish fourth and are the first country not qualified you get the max 28 points. Second place gets 25, third gets 23, fourth 22 and so on.

Why do you need to post that in two different posts on separate days? -

Well he's not in the top 10 so he has to compete with other combined ranked teams to qualify. Of course Nestor + Pospisil have a combined rank of 33 which means they should easily make it in.
Raonic and Pospisil have announced they are competing in doubles together. So looks like Nestor is out.

For all the tennis experts, what are the chances of Daniel Nestor competing in the doubles event?

and Mexico completes the field.
