So dumb to use different crtieria to determine who finsihes where. The first method that would work (since head to head points would not work) would be head to head goal differential. In that case Italy first, Spain second and Netherlands third.
Hoping France doesn't win as they do not deserve it.

Day 2 of the Canadian Trials saw 5 more swimmers qualify (4 women and 1 man)
Javier Acevedo in the men's backstroke, 0.03 seconds of the NR at 53:67
Dominque Bouchard (59.93) and Kylie Masse (59.06, new NR and second best time in the world this year) qualified in the women's 100m backstroke
Emily Overholt and Sydney Pickerm both qualified in the 400im, both well off Overholt's NR set back in 2015 when she won bronze at the Worlds.
No qualifiers in the men's 200m butterfly.
-
Bouchard and Masse through in the 100m backstroke. Masse finished in 59.06 a new CR (second best time this year). All 3 women;s events have had the nr broken so far.

Goal difference between the three teams, meaning:
1) Italy
2) Spain
3) That other team we would like to play against for an olympic spot.
So that likely means Canada and France will play to win lol. Canada finishes second with a tie as well.

What is the tiebreak ??
Looks like Netherlands, Spain and Italy will be in a 3 way tie for first.

I don't think anybody is actually having an issue when you post the daily CAN qualifiers, at least I'm not and I don't hear anyone else complaining

Not great results so far at the Swimming Olympics trials. Nobody qualified in the men's 400m IM or the men's 100m breaststroke (winner was 0.02s off). Brittany MacLean did win the 400m with a new Canadian standard and, three races is, in the only Canadian to qualify. Taylor Ruck, 15, was less than a second off the qualification time.
Edit 1: In an upset Penelope Oleksiak wins the women's 100m butterfly with a new Canadian record. Noemie Thomas beats out Katerine Savard, beating the old Canadian record, to also qualify for the Olympics.
Oleksiak would have won silver and Thomas Bronze with those times at the worlds last year! And Oleksiak is only 15! unreal. -
I am surprised Italy is on the list

This result in theory should look up a top 2 spot in the group.

Sorry it is listed as another name on FINA's website, which is why the confusion arose in the first place.

Some changes from 2014 (besides the biathlon one listed above)
-Freestyle skiing max quota per nation has increased to 30 from 26, meaning we will see less countries taking part in the sport in 2018
-Ski jumping: 5 more women quotas, 5 less men quotas
-Snowboarding: max quota per nation has increased to 26 from 24; overall sport quota has increased by 6

Big win for Canada, it keeps second place in the group open.
Canada should beat both France/Slovakia.
Then a battle vs Romania for second.

So, Canada may go with...
Men's: Raonic (S+D), Pospisil (S+D); additionally Nestor (D)+Shamasdin (D, I am not sure if Shamasdin was part of Davis Cup in recent ties..)
Women's: Bouchard (S) and maybe Dabrowski to team up with Bouchard for women's doubles.
I think that is fair team.
Shamsadin was in the Belgium tie last year. How many does he need in total?

Wow!

One goal again

I am surprised to see Tejada of Peru competing. She was caught for doping at the Pan Am Games last summer...
-
For all the tennis experts, does Daniel Nestor have a chance to qualify for Rio? Keep in mind Raonic and Pospisil are confirmed to be a doubles team and Nestor will need an alternative partner.
