Derek Drouin, Commonwealth Games, Pan Am Games, World and Olympic champion in the men's high jump has switched to the decathlon
The goal is the 2018 Commonwealth Games, in which we might see a Canadian sweep in the event (Drouin, Warner and Pierce Le Page, imo Canada's best young athlete atm).
2.36 in the high jump in Rio's decathlon would have given him 169 more points than the rest of the field in the high jump.
Looks intriguing

Maybe something like what Madagascar was planning, but probably has to forget now.
Madagascar has an athlete at least.
Its bizarre that just a delegation is being sent to the Universiade from a country (Gambia) with no winter sport tradition -

Being 300 points behind the target really suggests that they don't have any chance (at least those two who competed so far). That's unless they qualify in some bogus races like Vanessa Mae.
Venezuela's skier also started well behind as well in his quest for Sochi

Ops, I missed it . Good luck for your bid
I hope they do not win the right tbh, they don't deserve hosting a World Cup at all.

Next year's tournament takes place closer to Toronto than Montreal is. This might be a slight overkill in terms of 3 events in 4 years in the relative same area...

so it´s even more impossible then
average attendance slovak football league, if we don´t count Trnava and Dunajská Streda it must be one of the lowest not only in europe but maybe in the whole galaxy
Slovan 1227 Z. Moravce 1280 Podbrezová 1597 Myjava 1788 Ružomberok 1905 Skalica 1918 Senica 1969 Žilina 2023 Trenčín 2370 Michalovce 3055 D. Streda 4198 Trnava 8446
total average attendance in slovak hockey league per month in the last column.
so clearly football isn´t the most popular at all
How welldoes the national team draw?

I think it´s rather more blue than green in the middle of europe this is probably a map about the number of registred athletes in which sport in the country, ofc there more football players than hockey players in Czech republic, Slovakia, Sweden and Russia, but I´m 100% sure peoples care more about hockey than about football, at least in SVK for sure
Canada has more football/soccer players too but its blue -
Wow
Part of me wants to see Slovakia lose, that way one of the bigger nations are relegated.

Wow, but Canada always does well (as in win a gold or a medal) and then just do horribly at the Olympics. Hopefully they can repeat, but I am definitely not holding my breath.
