  1. " The individual tournament for the Kumite competition at the World Karate Federation (WKF) Karate World Championships is held under a weight class system comprising five divisions for both men and women. Weight classes for men: −60 kg, −67 kg, −75 kg, −84 kg, and +84 kgWeight classes for women: −50 kg, −55 kg, −61 kg, −68 kg, and +68 kg " That's the WC not the Olympics
  2. Isinbayeva, gets to participate after all (as part of the closing ceremony)
  3. Same here At least these are the last Olympics we hear about them 24/7
  4. Hopefully not, their mixed doubles pair was Qatari born
  5. Some 17 teams will compete across the men’s and women’s Pacific Curling championships with Hong Kong women’s team and Qatar’s women’s and men’s teams making their debuts. Previously, the highest number of teams to compete at the PACC was 13 in 2012 and 2015. Also, Australia women make their return having missed the 2015 event in Almaty, Kazakhstan. These teams will be joined by China, defending champions Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea and New Zealand in the women’s championship and Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Kazakhstan, 2015 winners Korea, New Zealand and Chinese Taipei, in the men’s event. Qatar This is one thing about Qatari sport I can support (assuming that these are home produced athletes)
  6. 24 medals was my prediction, Canada leaves with 22 (tied for the most ever in a non-boycotted games). With 10+ fourth place finishes and a total of 43 top 5 performances (and most of this team being young, and likely to return for Tokyo), is it too early to say Canada will likely break 22 medals in Tokyo? A top 8 goal is what the COC wants for Tokyo (in terms of overall medals, which would mean around 28-30 medals, and I think that is definitely do-able).
  7. Both lol. Also Benefito is sticking it out till 2020 apparently. Fillion was the one injured, so maybe with some time off she will come back for Tokyo. They have what it takes to win the silver (or even gold)
  8. Well this is interesting: http://globalnews.ca/news/2893387/boxing-canada-calling-for-full-review-amidst-olympic-boxing-judging-controversy/
  9. I hope everyone sticks around after the games are done
  10. Wow Uzbekistan has benefited from so many odd calls in wrestling, boxing
  11. How did Azerbaijan lose? That was surprising. Uzbekistan 7 boxing medals (3 gold) something seems suspicious here
  12. Bouchaed 27th and Gagne lapped (43rd) have finished the MTB race. With that, Canada has ended its performance at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
  13. And Garcia loses in the second round of the repechage.
  14. With two bad referee decisions against him and a bad shoulder, Haislan Garcia beats the Cuban.
  15. Penny Oleksiak is the closing flagbearer. Top 8 goal for Tokyo.
  16. 43 top 5 place finishes (excluding today's events). Not bad at all.
  17. "My shoulder popped out" #CAN @Hgarcia66 injured at the end of his qualification fight, lost 5-1. -
