  1. Brazil won the mixed relay in triathlon, and thus qualifies one male and one female for Lima 2019.
  2. Nope. Sri Lanka has a traidition in athletics (two silvers won, which is the same as India at the Summer Olympics) The other two sports are basketball and archery.
  3. Good for them! That is the third sport they have qualified in for the first time ever (in both the Youth and Summer Olympics).
  4. He missed the A standard for the Pan Ams by 0.09 seconds
  5. If Argentina/Chile do not finish top 2 in the women's event, Canada would have to go through a last qualifier.
  6. Sorry, I meant Brazil (lol apparently I cannot count)
  7. So Uruguay/Chile qualify in men;s and Argentina in women's?
  8. Both , , qualified Karate athletes for Lima 2019, all of which failed to qualify for Toronto 2015. Only country eligible to qualify and did not was
  9. Don't think Norway has any world class shooters (maybe I am wrong).
  10. Anyone know why Argentina won bronze and not Bolivia in this event? https://www.cochabamba2018.bo/torneo/esquema/4/torneo/311
  11. Still remember in 2007, when Canada was booed at a lot of the sporting events for the Pan Ams.
  12. Was the silver in women's pairs? The top 4 will qualify for Pan Am - Uruguay and Peru. The pin total from singles + doubles added together will determine the qualifiers, but that info is not available on the official website. Also Aruba might have an outside chance in sailing?
  13. Its impossible to follow.
  14. Surprisingly Bolivia has not allowed 80+ points vs Chile in rugby sevens
  15. 8795 points for Damien Warner in Gotzis (even with no pbs in any of the 10 events)
  16. Canada also had a second string doubles team, and Li beat Nehwal
  17. https://mailchi.mp/canoekayak/3-medals-and-1-new-world-record-for-the-canadian-sprint-team-on-day-2-of-the-icf-world-cup-2 Looks like Canadian Canoeing/Kayaking is bouncing back from the disaster that was Rio
  18. Deguchi is actually Japanese and decided to compete for Canada, because one would assume its easier to qualify for major events. However Canada also got second so looks to be good competition internally in Canada as well.
  19. Canada who won 3 of the 6 medals at Toronto 2015 (two gold and one silver) will not compete in Lima 2019, because the Canadian Cycling Federation decided to not send a team to the qualifying event
  20. Magnus Kim will represent Norway from now on http://www.ocasia.org/News/IndexNewsRM.aspx?WKegervtea2/m4hGWqSGeA==
  21. The Canadian Championships were being held at the exact same time... which are used to select the team for the Worlds. However, some of Canada's top athletes competed in DR. Looking at the results from 2015, its reasonable to expect three medals for Canada in Lima, even with the reduced team (13 in 2015 vs 4 in 2019). Darsigny, Santavy and Charron all would have won medals in Toronto 2015 with their pb's and by quite a distance at that, so something similar could happen in Lima. ---- It also comes down to funding. For the CWG's all or most of the weightlifters were ranked in the top 5 (ie fully funded travel). For Pan Ams only the top 2 in each gender (and they must also have 95% of the world champions total) to be funded.
  22. Weightlifting qualification for Lima 2019 Pan American Games Men: 6 quotas (host nation, automatically gets 6 quotas) 4 quotas 3 quotas 2 quotas 1 quota +1 WC Women 6 quotas (host nation, automatically gets 6 quotas) 4 quotas 3 quotas 2 quotas 1 quota +1 WC Canada would have qualified a few more athletes had it decided to send more athletes to the qualifiers.
  23. I could say that about any ideology, tbh. However, extreme liberalism is what is talked about least I guess.
  24. Extreme liberalism is a cancer to society.
