    They both had a successful debut, but it will take a bit more work to qualify for 2018. Good luck too them! Also I gotta say this has to be the most developed winter sport (in terms of competitive countries). Literally 10-12 countries could win medals on a given day.

    Just saw the entry lists for the first world cup and looks like Ireland will be entering two athletes (both are transfers from Canada). Is this the first ever world cup for Ireland?

    Because the NHL decided to make two hybrid teams (to increase the competitiveness). I don't think this tournament is prestigious, but I think the ratings must be good?

    Wow Europe! Arguably the team everyone thought would be the worst in the tournament, makes it to the final! A very strong part of me wants them to do the unthinkable and beat Canada!

    No but I'd like to see Europe win, because it would encourage hockey growth in some of the countries and also show the NHL its a dumb idea to mix countries together
