  1. Uzbek, Gafur Rakhimov, is set to be confirmed as the only candidate to stand for president of AIBA after his sole rival, Kazakhstan's Serik Konakbayev, allegedly failed to get enough letters of support. The "problem" with this is that IOC have consistently warned members of AIBA to elect Rakhimov, because the US Treasury has described Rakhimov as "one of Uzbekistan’s leading criminals". IOC Executive Committee will begin a two-day meeting tomorrow where this whole mess will probably be discussed, and possible the future of boxing at the Olympics.

  3. At a World Cup meeting held on Friday 28th September in Zurich. Two things were discussed regarding the future of the World Cup. - An unofficial proposal has been made about reducing the quotas for the Top 30 nations in World Cup. - Harmonizing the parallel skiing event rules, which mean, finding one format that could be used in the 2019/20 season. Both discussion points will be either further discussed or decided upon at the next meeting in Dubrovnik in the spring. http://www.fis-ski.com/alpine-skiing/news-multimedia/news/article=the-stage-set-for-the-alpine-world-cup-2018.html

  11. What a terrible season for Baltimore Orioles.. They ended the season with a 47-115 record! 115 losses are a new franchise record (modern era) for most losses in one season, and this include the time when they were named St. Louis Browns. It's also second most losses in MLB history. (Record: Detroit Tigers 43-119 in 2003) 47-115 gives them a winning percentage of 0.290%. This is the lowest W% in Orioles history, and the second lowest in Orioles/Browns history. (Record low W% is 0.279 in 1939 as Browns)
