Again democrats highly divided after the debate (the worst one in my opinion). Sanders and Biden supports do not like each other. They will struggle to vote for the others candidate when the debate is said and over. My family supports 3 entirely different candidates. My families are like that. We really can’t be this divided going into the election.

Harris gets nailed on her criminal justice record. There goes my candidate:facepalm:. She on the record as once being against the legalization of pot and outside police investigations. That’s inexcusable really.

Once having been against the legalization of weed is inexcusable? Really, you do realize if even that is 'inexcusable' there is not going to be a single candidate that's good enough, right? :p

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

@Dragon Is there any chance Scotland or Wales leave Great Britain if Brexit really happens, especially a no-deal Brexit?Their representatives seem to mostly be pro-EU. Also the Gaelic and Welsh songs sung in Parliament after the black rod business, seems to make it look as though the United Kingdom may not be that United.

Sorry - missed this earlier this week.

I'd say if Brexit Scotland will be independent by 2030.

Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will be united by 2040,

Wales will take longer to leave.

I guess that makes sense. Wales and England are generally seen as having much more in common right?

I like how amid all this call for a change and new progressive wave it's the rich, white old guy that leads the Democratic race. Unless Biden makes a huge mistake somewhere down the line it's his nomination to lose IMO. And other candidates fighting against each other actually gives the poll leader a bigger chance to win the nomination outright. This is why the sitting POTUS have had it so easier in the last 40+ years. The other party nominees waste waaay too much energy in winning their party vote they come in tired when the real duel is up. Probably won't be any different in Trump vs Biden. Trump has a clear advantage already as he's not concerned about being politically correct. Everyone knew he was a fool to begin with and he still defeated the allegedly shrewd political animal Hilary Clinton.

I also hate how the party won’t like them go after each other during the debate.

If think realistically its Biden v. winner of Sanders v. Warren. Warren’s and Sander’s supporters will most likely support one or the other in my opinion.

I totally agree with you on the candidates doing to much in the primaries by the way.

But that's the whole point! Why would any party allow in-fighting in public between their supposedly top members? This makes no sense. It's a by-product of a dual party political system. Both GOP & Dems know their turn will come in a cycle so they can get away with anything including throwing dirt at their bandmates. If USA had a legit 4-5 party system none of these 20-candidate debates would ever take place. They would be forced to pick the strongest candidate in private without doing their dirty laundry in public. That's why I think the two-party system is always flawed. You allow the fat cats to sit on laurels for decades but it's actually the product of understanding the democratic system. Two bitter enemies stonewall everyone else and enjoy trading punches at each other knowing there's zero threat coming from outside. The last true outside influence in US politics was Ross Perot in 1992 elections.

Well It’s no mystery to anyone on here that I envy Europe in ways (looking to move there someday), and your election systems are so much better. The 2 party system has been failing so hard since WW2. That’s why I want to see infighting in the Democratic Party, because I need to figure who my candidate will be. The Democrats are mainly anyone not conservative. The GOP are generally pretty well United. They actually make sense as a party. Now, I’d say they’re more together than ever with the moderate conservatives slowly leaving the party. The GOP have an extreme wing and regular conservatives. The problem for the DNC is that they have liberals, progressives, quite a few greens who know their candidates won’t win, democratic socialists (like myself), moderates, centrists, extreme socialists, and few other small minority outliers. The problem is that the demographics change according to the issue. There are pro-gun Democrats, pro-life Democrats, in some cases racist Democrats, financially conservative Democrats, and a party where there’s a constant power struggle between the fractions.

I take absolutely no responsibility for the US political system back I’d completely rewrite it in a second. Automatic Voter Registration, Mandatory Voting, Election Day as a National Holiday, Election Day on Monday, Ban Political Parties, Cap Campaign Donations, Goodbye Electoral College, and Direct Election For All Government Positions.
