  1. This event will give direct quotas for the 2024 Paralympics in Archery, Boccia, Shooting, Table Tennis and Wheelchair Tennis. Also, the top teams in Goalball, Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Rugby will qualify for the Paralympics.
  2. No, they are not. Camilla even prefers her middle name "Lopes", but FIG uses her last name "Gomes".
  3. According to the qualification system, the first scenario is the correct one, meaning Camilla can get an additional quota for if she's one of the 3 highest athletes in the Olympic qualification ranking. Meaning Alice can't obtain a quota via World Cup series. The same for Hu, Methot, Stevens and Songhurst. It's not that easy for Camilla to qualify since she'll be competing with the likes of Zhu and Page (all qualified for the final here, but behind another athlete from their nations), but she certainly has a better shot than Alice would have.
  4. Men's Trampoline quotas: Women's Trampoline quotas:
  5. Didn't know Kate Winslet could sing, and the song is good! Funny how some songs can transport you back in time, even if sometimes they don't completely fit your style.

Without most of their Track and Field stars, suffered the biggest drop here in the rankings, as well as in gold and total medals percentage. all had their best Games ever, and I think some other nations too: . had a huge increase in the total number of medals, but failed to win more gold medals, which is certainly a bit disappointing for a host nation. They lost a staggering number of direct finals (14 out of 17), which would certainly help them in the ranking (they also were 8th in 2019). Even with a drop in medals, achieved a better ranking compared to Lima, which I think is a first for a previous host? Record number of nations that medaled in a single edition with 34, thanks in part to six NOCs that managed to win at least one medal after none in Lima: . Three nations that had at least one medal in 2019 did not win any this time: .
  7. Looking at my optimistic predictions of gold medals for team Brasil, I almost matched the actual results in total numbers. While I'm happy with the results, I wish Brazil had won more gold medals in different sports, like Archery, Canoeing and Cycling. We did manage to win a medal in a sport we never won anything before (Baseball), so that's a positive, along with the unexpected gold medals in Wrestling. Won more gold medals than predicted +2 Athletics, Boxing, Judo, Gymnastics (Rhythmic), Tennis +1 Canoeing Slalom, Triathlon Matched the predictions Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Equestrian, Fencing, Football, Karate, Roller Skating (Artistic), Sailing, Skateboarding, Volleyball. Won less gold medals than predicted -1 Archery, Badminton, Canoeing Sprint, Cycling (BMX), Gymnastics (Artistic), Gymnastics (Trampoline), Open Water, Surfing, Swimming, Taekwondo, Table Tennis. Won gold medals that were not predicted +2 Wrestling +1 Rowing
  8. Remembering Brazil's 66 gold medals. So sad the whole thing is over
  9. Apparently Brazil won the title in the women's competition (which was Football), and Mexico in the men's.
  10. Hugo Calderano (Table Tennis, 2G 1S) and Nicole Pircio (Rhythmic Gymnastics, 3G) are our flagbearers for the closing ceremony.
  11. I completely forgot there was an e-sports competition here
  12. confirms 3rd place, repeating the 2019 Lima result, but breaking the all time record of gold and total medals in a single edition. holds 7th place ahead of . And with a gold in Karate, is seems that will end in the top 10.
  13. A gold for in Karate
  14. Gold for Erin Jackson in speed skating.
  15. Because Brazil had more success in doubles in the last decade, I usually watch more doubles than singles - of course mostly from brazilian players, since they don't show other matches (unless is a Grand Slam final or something).
  17. Only 1 day to go and 24 medal events left. I'm curious to see some final positions in the medal table. Seems like 3rd place is between and , while 7th place will be or . Don't know how many gold chances they have left. Also interesting is the fight for the top 10. It seems like is safe and will fight for 10th place.
  18. hits the 200 medals mark with a gold in men's Football. While I'm happy (a gold is a gold), it's kinda sad lost this title at home (worse: on penalties). I still remember the our Rio 2016 gold medal - even though I'm not the biggest Football fan, it was one of the most celebrated moments by brazilian people.
  19. Fair, but this Volleyball final means very little in the grand scheme of things...
  20. wins a gold medal in Artistic Skating after a great performance from our skater... I guess? It wasn't shown anywhere
  21. Gold and Olympic quota for . Bronze for which surprisingly had a hard match against (28-27).
  22. 250k people are watching the volleyball final, while only 5,000 are watching the handball final (which is an Olympic qualifying event, of course). This unfortunately shows the priorities of our sport...
  23. The medal ceremony just happened, I think they waited until the whole thing was solved.
  24. They gave back the gold medal in women's 400m Hurdles Which means loses a gold and the bronze medal @Olympian1010
  25. In the last team event, you have a gold medal
