  1. doesn't seem to be having a great home Games, which is surprising. Even managed to greatly increase the number os gold medals won in 2019 (11) compared to 2015 (3).
  2. Kimberly Garcia won the women's 20km Race Walk with a WR time of 1:12:26. In fact, 12 athletes did better than the previous world record... Except that the was a mistake in the course and they didn't actually walk for 20km They'll correct for the men's race, which was postponed by 1 hour.
  3. The scheudle here was really very tight. Even at the Olympics they usually give it a day of rest between semifinals and finals, sometimes two days.
  5. Yuliana Lizarazo/Nicolas Barrientos wins the XD gold medal. Brazilian team too tired after just having played other matches today.
  6. As has been the case since 2011, and will decide the Olympic quota.
  7. Brazil was leading 30-10 so I guess there was no point in continuing, but still there was 16 minutes to play. Pretty bad for an Olympic qualifier...
  8. Gustavo Heide/Marcelo Demoliner won the MD gold medal, spoiling the Chilean party in which could very well be a very heated Davis Cup match. last chance for a gold medal here will be tomorrow, again with Barrios. Nice win for Heide after losing the men's singles semifinal (and the Olympic quota).
  9. I'm not complaining because Brazil did better in the days with less medal events I think there will be 22 medal events tomorrow, which still isn't that much but definitely more exciting than the past three days.
  10. First gold medal (WD) goes to Laura Pigossi/Luisa Stefani. Pigossi played a singles match (all going to third set) and a doubles for the past three days. Just today she played for about 5 hours
  11. sadly destroying in Baseball. Guess silver is good enough for us...
  12. Men's Singles quotas DIAZ ACOSTA Facundo BARRIOS Tomás
  13. Only women's Basketball and Football in the live streaming right now. On a Saturday afternoon!
  14. Women's Singles quotas CARLE Lourdes PIGOSSI Laura
  15. Men's Singles semifinals MONTEIRO Thiago x BARRIOS Tomás DIAZ ACOSTA Facundo x HEIDE Gustavo Women's Singles semifinals PIGOSSI Laura x RIERA Julia CARLE Lourdes x MARINO Rebecca Winners will qualify for Paris.
  19. gets both Beach Volleyball gold medals, first time since Guadalajara 2011.
  20. trying to spoil the party of the chilean star athletes
  21. As someone posted on X yesterday: "first you work for your name, then your name works for you"...
  22. Not a great start of the day for Brazil. Both Michael Trindade (-51kg) and Abner Teixeira (-92kg) w/o due to injuries. Gold for and . The other two male fighters will face Cuban athletes, so no chance for gold...
