  1. qualifies for the Olympics. Tomorrow the winner of vs will get the second quota.
  2. Same with group B, where vs will decide the second quota - unless Brazil can't win vs. or Japan somehow surprises . Group A is definitely the most interesting.
  3. Time is announcing some names for the Games. In Athletics, we're going with 67 athletes, including world medalist Caio Bonfim and world indoor champion Darlan Romani (no Alison dos Santos). In Tennis, Thiago Monteiro, Marcelo Demoliner and Gustavo Heider (Men's) and Olympic medalists Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani + Carolina Meligeni (Women's). The best ranked brazilians (Bia Haddad Maia and Thiago Wild) will not participate. Judo will have 19 athletes, including Olympic medalists Daniel Cargnin, Rafael Silva, Rafaela Silva and Ketleyn Quadros. Boxing will have 13 names including Olympic medalists Beatriz Ferreira and Abner Teixeira. Brazil is also bringing their best in Equestrian and Table Tennis - which will have Bruna Alexandre as the first brazilian athlete to compete in both the Pan American Games and Para Pan in the same year. Many teams have also been announced, and most of them (Basketball, Football, Volleyball) have athletes that play only in brazilian clubs. So I expect some competitive teams but Brazil isn't the favourite for any team sport gold.
  4. So apparently Brazil played really bad today... but this was great:
  5. Big win for vs . Probably the best team of the group after the 3 favourites.
  6. Strange that they gave 2 bronze medals in the teams competitions even though one was better in the rankings than the other
  7. Sure, but it's my understanding that would have faced in the women's semifinal, and that would have been terrible for us
  8. Quota goes to actually. Of the three teams with one win (the others being and ) they had the best match difference. Don't know how Chile lost so easily to Puerto Rico, and then today gave a hard time to both Brazil and Canada. They're coming for multiple medals at the Pan Am Games, I think...
  9. In the men's final round, Brazil has 2 wins, Canada and Puerto Rico 1, and Chile none. Last matches: vs. and vs. For women's, United States with 2 wins, Brazil and Puerto Rico with 1, and Chile none. Last matches starting now: vs. and vs
  10. Boyer winning gold with that routine Just a little taste of how next year is going to be...
  11. Don't know what happened to :USA, their level wasn't great here (probably wouldn't qualify even if they made top 4). Their women's team is a favourite for a quota, though. and will battle for the second quota.
  12. I think is very safe and will easily win all matches. The second quota will be decided between and , the last match of their group.
  13. Maybe it was a little bit of a wishful thinking. I can't stand Sabalenka
  14. It's easier now to predict which teams won't qualify
  15. Well, maybe not... she looks defeated already.
  16. Brazil is going full force in Beach Volleyball with Duda/Ana Patrícia (World #1) and George/André (World #5).
  17. In the men's tournament the loser of vs will get in semifinals which already will be a deciding match since the bronze medalist won't even have the chance to participate in the Olympic qualification tournaments. For me is slightly ahead for men's quota and is stronger on the women's side.
  18. Shouldn't get the quota since they have a better point difference in the group? Anyway, I think it's entirely possible for to beat .
