  1. I would say Apollo 10½, Catherine Called Birdy, Cha Cha Real Smooth, Fire Island, Funny Pages, Three Months, Top Gun: Maverick and probably The Northman would complete the top 20 after those 10 + 2 documentaries. But of course there's much more as I try to watch as many movies as I can...
  2. If I was a Oscar voter, this would be my top 10 (alphabetic order): Aftersun Bones and All Close Decision to Leave Everything Everywhere All at Once Happening* Joyland Living Tár The Wonder Special Citation (Documentaries): All the Beauty and the Bloodshed The Territory *released in 2021, but watched after I did my top 10 list last year
  3. The Oscars are this sunday, so naturally here I am with my annual predictions post. Last year was very predictable, so much that I got 22/23 correct picks. This most certainly won't happen this year, as we finally have some exciting races across the board (Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress are very hard to predict). It's been some time we don't have a Best Picture winner that also wins 6 or more Oscars. This could happen this time if the Academy goes crazy for Everything Everywhere. Right now I'm predicting 6 wins, but I can see a scenario where it wins 8 (extremely optimistic) or just 4 awards. Hopefully we get some surprise wins cause last year ceremony was kinda boring ("slap" fiasco aside). Almost managed to watch all the 54 nominated movies (including shorts), except for Avatar: The Way of Water, which had only dubbed sessions at the nearby theaters (and so far isn't available on streaming/VOD). ["will win" is my prediction / "could win" is my alternate prediction / "should win" is my personal ranking from what I've watched / "shoud have been nominated" is a way to remember other notable work].
  4. I have my reservations regarding to Bia. She doesn't do great in Grand Slams but maybe at the Olympics she'll have more luck.
  5. I think Rayssa has a good chance as best female athlete, but I hope Rebeca wins. Alison is the most deserving male athlete by far...
  6. Bruno Schmidt (Beach Volleyball), 2016 Olympic champion.
  7. Some special thanks to @Sindo for supporting the return of the awards, even when I thought it wouldn't be successful. To the members who helped me with projects for the awards: @Dragon @Games and Rings @intoronto @JoshMartini007 @Mkbw50 @Olympian1010 @Vojthas. And of course to all the 38 of you who voted (list here) or followed the awards As I followed the same format of the previous editions (which were almost a decade before), I'm aware that some things need to change. Hopefully, by the end of this year we'll have more time to discuss all the suggestions made here in order to improve our awards.
  8. I did videos for the old editions too, but sadly now they're gone. So this will be the first of (hopefully) many more
  9. The year in sports brought us a lot of joy, tears and excitement, not only for the athletes competing, but for Totallympics members around the world. As we say goodbye to the returning edition of our annual awards, here's hope that 2023 can also be a memorable year for all sports fans. For now, we'll remember the moments that united us in 2022, presenting the theme song for this edition: TISC winner "Superheroes", by Irish band The Script. Thank you all! Have a great year and until the next Totallympics Awards!

  15. Roger Federer TENNIS To say that Federer is one of the most successful players of all time is a understatement. Making his ATP debut in 1998, he went to win his first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon in 2003 at age 21, and since then his dominance has been undeniable. He was ranked the number one player in the world for 310 weeks, which includes a record 237 consecutive weeks, winning 103 ATP singles tournaments (the second most of all time) and 20 Grand Slam titles. A four-time Olympian, he won a gold medal in doubles (2008) and a silver in singles (2012), being the flagbearer for Switzerland in Athens and Beijing Games. Having struggled with a knee injury for the past years, Federer played his final professional-level tournament in 2022. The match (his 1750th on the tour) marked the end of an era – one that made sports history. @vinipereira
