  9. Welcome to the nominations announcement for the 2022 Totallympics Awards, a celebration of the year in sports. Throughout the next hour, we will unveil the nominees for the 11 categories voted by Totallympics members, as well as remember some of the moments that made 2022 a great year for sports!
  10. NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCEMENT Sunday, January 1st, 18:00 (UTC+0)
  11. After some careful consideration, I decided to make the mixed Equestrian teams ineligible for the Men's Team award. Voting regarding this issue didn't help as it was pretty much 50/50. Next year I hope we can solve this problem with the creation of a new category (or reformulation of the current ones).
  12. That was my initial thought, but there wasn't much time to do something like this. Next year I will open the thread sooner so we can do shortlists.
  13. While we've reached the voting deadline for the first stage, I'll be accepting votes until this Saturday for those who still want to vote
  14. I see some votes for the swedish Equestrian team jumping being placed in Men's Team, even though there's a woman on the team. As we don't have a category for best mixed team (we will discuss this next year) and voting is already ongoing, I will leave this question here: Loading...
  15. I've seen some votes for Eileen Gu for best Youth Athlete, but per rules (born after 1 January 2004) she would be ineligible.
  16. It's for people related to the Winter Games in general, Olympics or Paralympics. Can even be someone who isn't an athlete but showed a true "Olympic spirit". While intended for this, I have seen some votes for this category for moments not related to the Beijing 2022, which could be a cue that we can have this award every year.
  17. Thank you. In this stage, is necessary at least three names in the categories you want to vote. So you would have to add at least 1 more name in Teams, Doubles and Sport Moment and at least 2 more in Youth Athlete for them to be counted. The others are okay
  18. Btw, if you are interested in voting in the first stage (nominees), just follow the instructions here
  19. A friendly reminder that the voting for the first stage will end tomorrow. I can do a little extension to Saturday if needed - although I think people will be more worried about New Year's I'm tagging some names (that I could remember) that might have some interest in voting, I hope more people will join this event (only 11 voters so far). I totally understand if people can't vote because this isn't the best time, but I hope we can count with more members in the second stage (which will determine the winners) since it will be much easier to vote. I'm updating the voters list here.
  20. If you can't vote in the first stage (nominees), you can still vote for the winners
  21. I won't change it this year of course, but next year we really should rethink those categories so that there isn't much confusion among voters.
  22. As some votes are coming in, I see a lot of similarities between Breakthrough of the Year and Youth Athlete, as I predicted that could be some confusion in these categories. I think the best solution right now would be to make the nominees in Youth Athlete ineligible in Breakthrough, and maybe rethink these categories next year
  23. Yes, voters are allowed to share their votes if they want
