  1. Yep. Whatever the case, tonight's developments seem to be significantly more serious than Prigozhin's previous red-headed nonsense ("We will leave Bakhmut for real now!" for a couple of months, for example). Which is great of course, the more Russian fighters - be it army or Wagner - kill each other, the better.
  2. Good news, it looks like things are going batshit crazy in Russia in the past hours, with Wagner mercenary group leader Prigozhin basically declaring war on the Russian ministry of defence after one of Wagner's camps was allegedly bombed by Russia. That would be fantastic, like two gangs of criminals killing off each other. If the 'official' Russian army and the semi-official Russian army (Wagner) fight each other....best-case scenario, more or less. Fewer of those terrorists to fight against Ukraine.
  3. Thanks, that seems to be a start. One wonders where all the many others sports can be viewed on-demand though...I'm sure I'm missing something, because no way an event that is supposed to be big like this has no on-demand options, bu no idea where.
  4. Lol, the 'Replays' section of the TV website is just one big-ass spoiler (literally even including scores in the title, as if the thumbnails spoiling the results weren't enough) https://europeangames.tv/videos Unbelievable, these organizations never learn, do they? Apparently from the 'Program' section one can't even go straight to a replay of the stream...now it's time to find out how to start rewatching stuff (non-spoilered)... Ah, there's 'Highlights' of the athletics sections...consisting of seeing a lady jump up and down in slow motion and slowly seeing a discus fly through the air. Sigh. I was kind of looking forward to this, but I guess this entire event can go in the trash can in terms of my 'Things to watch' list...
  5. Awful start to the weekend in Arnhem/Papendal, where a young rider crashed hard in training today. Emergency helicopter went there and the rider was eventually transported to the Nijmegen hospital. No word about condition, gender or nationality, although the language suggests it is an U23 rider. https://www.ad.nl/video/productie/jonge-bmx-er-ernstig-gewond-op-papendal-traumaheli-geland-384120 Edit: local news in our province mentions a collapsed lung, a bruised lung and a severe concussionc, condition is mentioned as 'stable'.
  6. Visits to two doctors in Italy to hopefully close the 'legal' part of Bruna's accident of last year One doctor of 'our' side in Bolzano and the next day a doctor of the insurance company of the driver of the van (the one who died, and on who officially the 'blame' for the tragic situation was put) in Trento, to see the extent of the injuries and such that are still present nowadays. At least the one in Bolzano spoke excellent English, the one in Trento spoke just a bit English and just a bit German, and we both don't speak Italian...so that was a short visit. All in all we spent 32 hours in the car, driving around 2200km, for a 40 minute visit and a 15 minute visit....but yeah, sort of a formality that had to be checked off At least we saw the famous speed skating rink of Collalbo, and had an excellent pizza there. It was burning hot everywhere, especially in the cities in the valley (it was sort of doable in the towns higher up), so it was a sort of hell for me But at least the views in Süd-Tirol are amazing as always....kind of interesting when going from Bolzano to Trento, and so leaving Süd-Tirol, you immediately notice things get....different, seemingly more messy and unorganized or something (I didn't like Bolzano much, neither Trento, but the small Süd-Tirol villages in the hills and mountains are ) Tl;dr: No, no honeymoon yet
  7. Welcome! Cool to have, as far as I know, a new nationality on the forum!
  8. Right, back after a few days in Italy/Austria/Germany, and starting to catch up with some stuff. I was going to ask for the official results system/page, but on the EuropeanGames.TV site there was already a link to this, so that seems easy https://results.european-games.org/EG2023/ENG/competitionschedule
  9. Wow, that seems like the most awful kind of combat sport to have as actual competition in a big event Great for sparring, but since when is 'training' a medal event
  10. By the way, I hope Magnus Sheffield gets serious professional help as well. He fell more or less together with Mäder and although the exact circumstances aren't known, there are photos showing Sheffield climbing back up while in the background they're trying to help Mäder....
  11. Fellow Swiss riders Küng, Dillier, Bissegger and some others at the start of today's 6th stage of the Tour de Suisse, after hearing the tragic news of Gino Mäder's death Stage has been more or less cancelled. They'll get on their bikes 30km before the original finish and from there ride in a neutralized manner towards the finish line.
  12. Yeah that's fine, all those prelims rounds for me mostly consist of checking the results anyway
  13. I see now that there are apparently three categories of kickboxing....pointfighting, full contact and.....light contact Light contact kickboxing, is that where you can carefully touch someone and say "Hit you!"? Honestly every form of kickboxing that's not simply full contact sounds slightly silly without ever having seen it, but who knows.
  14. We're not there yet, but this might very carefully be somewhat promising... I wonder which sports are not going to be shown.
  15. Do you happen to have a link? Because so far, I can only find the ones that have a schedule like this: But surely by now the actual matches are scheduled? This is a little like there's a FIFA World Cup schedule looking like this: Day 1 12.00 Group match 15.00 Also a group match 18.00 Another group match 21.00 Last group match of the day
  16. With the difference being that it doesn't give much of an advantage within the competition, and the athletes don't need anything to use them. I mean, the rich top athletes can use them just as much as the poorer athletes (who in other sports might not be able to afford top equipment). It only gives an advantage against older times, but then again....shoes have been getting better for decades, training programs have been getting better due to science for decades, and so on...
  17. It is really taking quite long for the full schedules for a bunch of sports to be out....still waiting on beach handball and beach football, for example. Also not a word on 3x3 basketball so far, it seems. Surely it can't take long anymore for the full draws and schedules to be out, considering it'll start...well, next week?
  18. Probably, but experience shows that some multi-sports events (hello EYOF) have been absolutely awful at this If Eurosport has the rights, they'll probably have everything on their online channels, excellent because it's always live and on-demand. If it's on YouTube, same thing. If it's on some EOC platform...start to worry. If it's on Olympics.com....start to worry as well, since they'd usually show a small selection and the user friendliness of their website in terms of finding stuff is nearly a crime. If here in the Netherlands we have to rely on the NOS (EBU partner)....yeah, no European Games for us. Barely anyone in the country knows it exists, so NOS is definitely not going to do more than 5-10 minutes highlights in the sports news at night.
  19. Yep My way of following the Grand Slams until roughly the semis is mostly the check the results on a daily basis. Not because I wouldn't like to see the rest, but I simply would miss too much anyway because of work and such, so seeing 20% of the earlier rounds and missing the rest would just be frustrating (and I always forget reading up on the news) I see there's quite a lot of discussion about it. Good thing Sorribes Tormo and Bouzkova didn't make it that much further I guess, hadn't seen the video until now but they clearly didn't even care about the ball girl and only went straight for "disqualify them!"
  20. Miyu Kato won the title in the mixed doubles, after apparently being DQ'ed in the women's doubles. I had missed it, but what on earth did her opponents in the women's doubles have to do with the DQ of Kato and her partner? Kato hit one of the ball girls, apologized and got a warning from the referee. That should obviously be that, but Sorribes Tormo and Bouzkova - who were in no way affected - somehow felt the need to protest it and get them DQ'ed? On what grounds?
  21. There were some doubles teams that wanted to enter, but they had to swallow their pride and couldn't do it.
  22. 1976 - First sub-4:00 2023 - First sub-3:50 Took a good while
  23. Wow, wow wow Hurta-Klecker with absolutely perfect work as well btw, 2:04 at 800m was asked, she delivered 800m in...2:04.00
