  1. Ooh, nicely done. My team is finalizing our flight plans and all we need to do now is to find a carrier that will take us to Vilnius (not directly because we don't have direct flights to Vilnius from New York City) so once we arrive, we'll probably stay in Vilnius for 3/4 of a day before taking the train to Kaunas
  2. Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo I get to go last Here's a funny thing, while I was reading through I was thinking "gotta hold on top number 33" and lo and behold.
  3. So, am I supposed to take it as bestmen is the Algerian Donald Trump saying that this whole thing is rigged? Is it wrong of me to ask what he's is taking? That's what we do here in America if someone acts like him in places like YouTube comments. But, seriously, though, cut it out.
  4. Wow, thanks for the insight @dcro Getting at least 94 points this time around is gonna be a tough task for the delegation, but nothing is impossible for Team USA. Anyway, I should have my final 15 by tonight, so expect my votes to come in by the end of the week.
  5. First phase done, got it down to 24. Next phase will come early next week, where hopefully I can get my final 15, so expect my votes to come in late next week, about 24-48 hours before the deadline
  6. I'll start listening to the songs later this week since I just went through a major storm and am on my mobile hotspot, but I will make the deadline.
  7. LOL!!! I had planned to do this since Wednesday, but I guess I wasn't counting on Canada to beat me to it.
  8. Alright guys, it was a tough decision for me to make. Like I said earlier, I was stuck on two songs, both from female singers, both were popular radio hits in my country (and maybe in some others) in 2002, one was about taking in a moment, and is a ballad, and the other was about letting go and having fun, and is a nice pop tune, but in the end, the American jury has chosen to send a ballad for the very first time to the contest. Enjoy. Kelly Clarkson, from Fort Worth, TX, is American Idol's first-ever winner Lyrics What if I told you It was all meant to be Would you believe me, Would you agree It's almost that feelin' That we've met before So tell me that you don't think I'm crazy When I tell you love has come here and now... A moment like this Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Some people search forever, For that one special kiss Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Everything changes But beauty remains Something so tender I can't explain Well I maybe dreamin' But 'till I awake Can we make this dream last forever And I'll cherish all the love we share For a moment like this Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Some people search forever, For that one special kiss Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Could this be the greatest love of all I wanna know that you will catch me when I fall So let me tell you this... Some people wait a lifetime For a moment like this Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Some people search forever, For that one special kiss Oh, I can't believe it's happening to me Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this Oh, like this oh, I can't believe it's happening to me. Some people wait a lifetime, For a moment like this. Oh, like this.
  9. UPDATE: So I'm planning to go on the same route that I took last year for the contest when I picked Train's 'Drops of Jupiter', but now I'm stuck on two songs from two female singers, one about taking in a moment, and the other about letting go and having fun. I'll let you know what (and who) I picked as soon as I can.
  10. That statement alone reminds me of a Swedish member of an Eurovision forum that I'm a part of. Year in and year out, he complains of a lack of native languages in the contest (which is true, I ain't gonna lie), but like at Eurovision, which hasn't enforced the native language rule since it was dropped 17 years ago, I don't see that happening here.
  11. I've been out of the loop lately as well, but I should have the song ready by Saturday. As for Mexico, sure they can use the song. Santana's from Mexico and it satisfies the rule with the duets, so I will offer my blessings to @mrv86 And @bestmen you're cool, but you are not running this contest, @Werloc is. When Algeria wins, then you can run it, but for now, you can challenge all you want, but you don't get the final say.
  12. is in, and we will do so with heavy hearts because if you missed what happened 3 months ago, we lost our first-ever representative of this contest (she was shot dead not far from where I live, and hours before the much bigger news story, but that's another time), and Team USA is not going to miss a contest for the world, so consider us in.

  14. 1) I'm gonna go with b on this one, though it is nice to hear music older than 5 years from other countries 2) a, because if the winner wants to host the next one, great. If not, it's open season.
  15. Just got through all of the closing ceremony vids, and the US delegation couldn't be more prouder than ever with our 14th place finish. Thank you to everyone who voted for us. Also, the US delegation will *leave* Slovakia with heavy hearts as we got late word that our very first representative, Christina Grimmie, was shot dead not far from where I live (double bummer) http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/11/entertainment/orlando-christina-grimmie-shot/index.html
  16. Multiple juries, they're pretty much the death of me xD. Well, thank you anyway
  17. Well, this is the first edition where we did not get a 12, but we go out with a silver, 3 bronze medals, and 86 points altogether, and the American tradition of NOT awarding points to the winning song (save for one edition where we did give 12 to a winning song). Thanks for the 11
  18. Congrats @uk12points and I think it's about time you put the BBC to shame with Eurovision xD
  19. It's like that Russian dude who handed out points at Eurovision 2015 all over again xD
  20. There's not a lot of people here You're welcome @hckosice I gotta give the 12 to you not only because it's one of the few songs I've liked from the start, but because it's catchy as hell. Oh, and that reminds me. I have no points for the eventual winner... again!
