great news. hopefully she wins the gold and will be allowed to keep it eventually. (which is still a different story) there are lots of questions about this case.

Russia did terrible things in case of doping and deserves to be punished (and is being punished) but we are talking about 15 years old ffs. and everybody knew Russia will win this gold (and team event gold) with or without Kamila. of course this should be investigated and whoever responsible for this (coach, doctor etc) should be punished

but meanwhile I'm glad to see her performing two more times. hopefully this whole thing doesn't effect her performance.

Great precedent to set that you can dope a literal child and keep the medals.

If :ROC Valieva finishes in the top 3 in the women’s single there will be no flower or medal ceremony held for the event, and medals won’t be handed out until the conclusion of her doping case.

The free skate will also include 25 skaters if Valieva qualifies for the free skate.

Hopefully this case will lead to an increase of the minimum age required to compete in senior championships, at this point it's only justifying repeated child abuse - no wonder they all burn out early.

ISU have already decided that there will be an increase in the age limit for their sports, even before this case. It would be lifted to 17 or 18 (not decided yet) with possibly one year increase with every season, until it's reached for the 2023-24 season or the next one, but certainly before Cortina.

The IOC has reacted:

If Valieva qualifies, then the Top 25 (instead of 24) will qualify for the free skate.

There will be no medal ceremony if Valieva medals.

Valieva will not be invited to the gala exhibition.

What a shitshow.

I really hope we won't see Eteri ever again after this (wishful thinking, I know).

Wimping out as usual. The IOC know full well that other teams will boycott the ceremony, so there won’t be a ceremony.
