  1. Still, it's only 0.09 slower than her PB.
  2. Another successful day for Project Bogota (except for the Mexican skier). 270 for Pita today.
  3. Apparently he is a businessman living in Salt Lake City, and also a squash player. I guess it's possible that someone has a same name, but come on, what are the odds? Something tells me that he is the mastermind behind these Bogota races.
  4. Too bad the Lebanese didn't go to Bogota! Meanwhile, it seems like should qualify in cross.country this time, as their athlete competed successfully in that OdP sprint..
  5. Welp, mass start is their best chance for qualification (as long as they stay in one group for 99% of the race). And judging by the picture on Taufatofua's instagram, it looks like they all have one mission. Making sure that everyone qualifies.
  6. Wow, this was a very cool mass start roller ski race in Bogota. all finished within 300 FIS points. Three more mass starts are scheduled. Hopefully there won't be any big breakaways that would prevent everyone from finishing below 300.
  7. Silić crew finished 8th in Park City today, one more race there tomorrow. Now they have two 5th places, two 7th places and one 8th place... Looking back at 2014 (when we finished as 3rd reserve), our best results (at the same races) were two 9th places, and there were also quite a few outside of top 10 finishes. Things are looking pretty good for the qualification. Netherlands will not accept their quota, Switzerland might use only one of their places, and if Russia doesn't get banned in bobsleigh/skeleton, then they won't get banned anywhere.
  8. Crnković didn't have more than 2 misses at any of the shootings. Hopefully he'll repeat it in sprint where his raw speed will be more useful.
  9. Fourcade always has to win Ostersund individual, doesn't he?
  10. Seems like North Korea is boycotting this after all... http://olympics.nbcsports.com/2017/11/29/north-korea-figure-skaters-olympics-pairs/amp/
  11. I'd rather have exotic skiers that can't ski or exotic biathletes that get lost in woods, instead of all those "non-exotic" athletes that compete for exotic nations. Most of the exotic nations that do compete are actually represented by such athletes, who only in the Olympic seasons supposedly start to care about their questionable origins or connections. For example that Bolivian cross-country skier that appeared last weekend is named Timo Juhani Gronlund... Goes without saying that he participated at races in Finland.
  12. Apparently Kocergina and Rasimoviciute's shooting in relay was a one time thing.
  13. Sadly it looks like Samorin did not sign the host agreement for 2022 WEG and has subsequently withdrawn from the bidding. Bidding will be re-opened soon, as Samorin was the lone bidder in the first round.
  14. Luge just wants to get in on having multiple (almost) same events at the Olympics, like a lot of other winter sports already do (ski jumping, snowboarding, nordic combined...).
  15. WEG is held only once in 4 years so it should be in. I can help with it if necessary.
  16. Looks like they can. So several nations could still qualify a mixed relay in fact.
  17. There's a decent chance that Belgium will be declining quotas (or at least Langer's possible quota). Back in 2014 they qualified in alpine skiing, biathlon and cross-country skiing and yet they didn't send anyone in those sports.
  18. It's the first general rehearsal for Lithuania's premiere Olympic relay. I have a feeling the final outcome very much depends on Kocergina and Rasimoviciute's shooting.
  19. But it's also an ethnic group. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_people
