  1. I'd rather have exotic skiers that can't ski or exotic biathletes that get lost in woods, instead of all those "non-exotic" athletes that compete for exotic nations. Most of the exotic nations that do compete are actually represented by such athletes, who only in the Olympic seasons supposedly start to care about their questionable origins or connections. For example that Bolivian cross-country skier that appeared last weekend is named Timo Juhani Gronlund... Goes without saying that he participated at races in Finland.
  2. Apparently Kocergina and Rasimoviciute's shooting in relay was a one time thing.
  3. Has Efa Tofalvi retired?
  4. Looks like Bolivia will compete in cross-country skiing too.
  5. Sadly it looks like Samorin did not sign the host agreement for 2022 WEG and has subsequently withdrawn from the bidding. Bidding will be re-opened soon, as Samorin was the lone bidder in the first round.
  6. Looks like I beat the game.
  7. Luge just wants to get in on having multiple (almost) same events at the Olympics, like a lot of other winter sports already do (ski jumping, snowboarding, nordic combined...).
  8. WEG is held only once in 4 years so it should be in. I can help with it if necessary.
  9. Looks like they can. So several nations could still qualify a mixed relay in fact.
  10. There's a decent chance that Belgium will be declining quotas (or at least Langer's possible quota). Back in 2014 they qualified in alpine skiing, biathlon and cross-country skiing and yet they didn't send anyone in those sports.
  11. It's the first general rehearsal for Lithuania's premiere Olympic relay. I have a feeling the final outcome very much depends on Kocergina and Rasimoviciute's shooting.
  12. But it's also an ethnic group. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_people
  13. That's incorrect. Being a Jew is ethnicity, just like being a Dutch. Judaism is a religion.
  14. It's really the law of return that Israel has. Tkachenko would be given citizenship in AZE/TUR, so not really a blatant athlete shopping. After all, Tkachenko/Tobias are practically a top 10 material.
  15. Are you sure this isn't for men? Women don't race at any of these giant slalom courses. Unless Dutch NOC doesn't want a female skier period.
  16. What does she need for the Olympics? Top 8 or something? Let's go.
  17. Israel has apparently selected their team. Men's singles - Alexei Bychenko, Daniel Samohin Pairs - Paige Conners/Evgeni Krasnopolski Ice dance - Adel Tankova/Roland Zilberberg Aimee Buchanan will take part in the women's portion of the team event only. Although Tobias/Tkachenko have earned the ice dance quota, they won't be going as Tkachenko failed to get Israeli citizenship. Tankova/Zilberberg will replace them (and most likely finish last). http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Sports/SINAI-SAYS-Israeli-athletes-set-to-don-gloves-for-Winter-Olympics-514898
  18. Pretty sure it's the curse of Croatian skiers to always finish 31st/32nd, and not the curse of these tri-colors.
  19. 2nd run for Jelinkova Meanwhile, Popović didn't came anywhere near the form that she showed in Colorado 5 days ago. Why do I even bother about Croatian skiing anymore?
  20. Meanwhile, Danish men's team got relegated to C division! I mean, what?! How?
  21. Pretty sure those are the first ever WC points for Iceland too. Sadly, it can't be checked as there are no Nations Cup rankings available.
  22. There is no such thing as spamming Totallympics.
  23. World Cup points for Snorri Einarsson. The one Norwegian I can really cheer for...
  24. It's high time for Crnković to improve his shooting. New season and he continues with 6 and 4 misses in the two sprints...
