  1. There's an article about her here: https://sports.yahoo.com/bad-american-skier-games-system-make-olympics-070235305.html
  2. Do we think Humphries is playing mind games with her training runs or she actually had an off day?
  3. Weird that there is only 3 medal events today, but Canada has a decent shot in 2 of them. Lots can happen in the 500m speed skating though. A little bit disappointed that Rochon finished 5th, I definitely prefer the slopestyle best of 3 runs as opposed to the elimination all or nothing (for aerials, moguls works just fine). But a medal for ABM and the women's curling team finally pulling it together were highlights.
  4. The Wikipedia article showed it as a bracket though...
  5. I don't really get why there was any reason to doubt Horman pre-tournament if she had such a pedigree. But if they did they were clearly onto something. The look the coach gave Cheryl Bernard at the end of the game makes me think she's about to get subbed in. There's going to be intense pressure on right now.... I think its too late. I know Slopestyle skiing and short track are unpredictable but I have hope. I also wish Patrick Chan a good skate to probably end his career, we all know he's not in medal contention, but it will be great to see him go out on top.
  6. This is very bad! I don't follow curling regularly but I'm absolutely shocked this is the team we sent, they seem to be completely inept. At what point do we sub in Cheryl Bernard, I don't even know how much better she'll be but still.
  7. I mean a 7th and 8th place busy compared to Sochi. It’s a better type of busy eh?
  8. Tomorrow there's also the women's 5000m in Speed Skating and the men's 15km Freestyle in Cross Country that Canada has at least an outside shot in.
  9. I decided to not wake up this morning for the events but its a great thing to wake up to! Ted-Jan Bloeman won gold in the men's 10000m and Team Luge won silver!
  10. I think the pairs medal may bit a bit much to wish for. I think our best medal hope tomorrow is Ted-Jan Bloeman in the 10,000m. But looking good in the Luge and I would not rule out the Men's Snowboardcross either.
  11. Now that I think about it I worked with some Korean people when Yuna won silver in 2014 and they were definitely in a meltdown mode when that happened.
  12. Apparently Kim Boutin is getting death threats: https://olympics.cbc.ca/news/article/canada-kim-boutin-receives-death-threats-after-winning-short-track-bronze.html
  13. It was a good day overall. De Haitre really didn't look good at all, luckily his foot will probably be healed by the time the 1000m roles around on the 23rd.
  14. That seemed like an obvious penalty, but I was still a bundle of nerves.
  15. The schedule is totally nuts. There's almost so much on at the same time its worth me waking up in the middle of the night for the curling game, I can justify with everything else. And it being a gold medal match!
  16. So a guaranteed medal today in Curling! Good chances (although its tight) in luge, and hopefully something good happens in the women's short track. I'm assuming the sprint is not Harvey's specialty in cross country?
  17. On a different sport note altogether, what are Canada's chances in the women's slopestyle today. I know nothing of this event.
  18. As much as I'm worried about Chan its looking pretty good for gold for Canada.
  19. They are so close, they don't want to blow it on a stupid mistake.
  20. Weird...I looked last night and it said Keegan Messing and now it says Chan. We're not taking this lightly, we could have subbed out Poje/Weaver for Virtue/Moir and we didn't.
  21. We are skating Keegan Messing in the men's program.
  22. We have unfinished business with Norway though. It’s not bad either way.
  23. I would think pairs I agree pairs and women's are the most likely substitutions, Osmond sometimes struggles with the long program and Daleman does not. If Canada is looking to giving a medal to Poje/Weaver I could see them swapping in for Virtue/Moir, but in all likelihood I think Virtue/Moir do both and Canada will sub out Osmond for the national champion Daleman.
  24. My biggest surprise was Manny OP finishing first in the training run, it means nothing in the long term but it was some positive news after the curling disaster.
  25. I don't plan on leaving this site, lol. Also, am I the only one impressed at Tricia Smith? She came into the COC at a difficult time and to me has been a present and likeable figure. I think that she understands the support the Canadian athletes need and I am excited to see our athletes flourish in 2020 but first 2018.
