  1. Do you know if Swimming Canada intends on bringing B Standard folks for the men in events that don't correspond to the relay? Part of the reason there's more men than women is that Ruck/Pickrem have so many events. I have my eyes on MacNeil to qualify in either the 100m back or free - I'm not sure pre-selecting Ruck to that 100m Free spot was a smart move, so may not finish in the top 2 at the trials.
  2. She could have totally qualified with a solid performance at the last World Cup. Ugh - that's annoying.
  3. I'm not sure Portugal can earn multiple spots on the World Cup Ranking the qualification document says: "The highest ranked eligible athletes up to the 14th quota place will earn quota places for their NOCs (max. one per NOC)."
  4. Is Judo a sport where athletes qualify as individuals or per nation? Assuming they can't send someone else in Zupancic's place?
  5. There's some info in here that's interesting. She could still be named to the team in the 400m free if she's qualified in the 800m/1500m free. My guess is she's leaving her options open but really focussing on the relay spot for the 200m free. https://swimswam.com/canadian-trials-psych-sheets-oleksiak-drops-100-fly-no-mcintosh-in-400-free/
  6. Did Guica lose the continental quota? Or is that the one continental quota that Canada got? I definitely expected our Judo team to increase numbers from 2016 and not decrease. That being said I think this team is headed in the right direction.
  7. I also noticed that Oleksiak isn’t contending the 100m fly. Could she just be focussing on the freestyle races now?
  8. Did they not invite her or did she choose to not race that? I could see an argument why she would focus on the 200m free for relay and the 800m/1500m for her first Olympics.
  9. Netty seems to be on an upwards trajectory - hopefully she qualifies and can get back up to her form from a few years ago.
  10. I calculated Canada ahead of Ukraine....this is very confusing, but still not in a qualification spot.
  11. Thanks for explaining - my brain was getting tripped up because the World Cup Rankings number is wrong on wikipedia.
  12. Even so I think it would be Spain who gets the reallocation since they were the highest ranked from the semi-finals. I'm also a bit confused about the World Cup Ranking - can Australia qualify a second athlete if their winner of the continental quota is also in the World Cup Ranking?
  13. Would the reallocation not go to USA and NZL? Those are the two top placed who didn't make the final from the 2019 World Championships?
  14. I’m assuming some of the Slopestyle athletes can also compete in Big Air too.
  15. Another 2016 medalist attempting a comeback - https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/kamloops-mountain-biker-olympian-motherhood-1.6037325 It seems like a pretty big challenge for her to be able to be named to the team, but impressive that she's trying.
  16. Thanks for putting this together. Super interesting to see how things are coming together for this team. Did Jonathan Cabral retire in the m100mH?
  17. Derek Drouin posted on Instagram that he did a makeshift competition on his home track and got 2.24. I’m so curious to see how he’ll do when he does return to competition.
  18. I'm a bit confused by the qualification. According to wikipedia there are 3 spots up for grabs at the World Championship - are we just assuming that those will come from the 19 you posted?
  19. LOL! She would need to compete in the Kayak event though then, right? That would be some work around of the rules. On another note after the last chance qualifier I'm feeling rather optimistic about the rowing team surprising in the summer. They seemed to have trained very well for this last meet.
  20. Thanks for putting this together! This is really fantastic and great showing for Canadian athletes. I share your optimism about the archery team. I'm assuming that it'll be a no on LVL's quota in canoe?
  21. Good job on the Canadians for only bringing crews that would qualify. Fantastic results!
  22. There is - it starts when the finals start at 10:05 CEST.
  23. Do we know if Canada is participating in the final Olympic qualification World Cup or if any of these athletes will participate in the K1 events?
