I’m going to be fascinated by Track Cycling and Rowing with the lack of competitions I really don’t know what the outlook is. I’ve been listening to Adam Kreek’s rowing podcast and it’s really interesting to hear athletes give their perspective. Swimming is also interesting, this is the one sport that I am more optimistic (I’m a bit more cautious with Atheltics and the Team Sports than you are). I feel like a good meet for the Canadians would see the team surpassing the 6 medals from Rio but it could be somewhere around there. Medley relay looks stronger on paper but it really depends on Taylor Ruck’s performance in the 4x100m/4x200m. Although I think Oleksiak was holding back at trials in the 200m. Liendo’s probably the best medal chances for the men.

No I had meant K2 I just assumed due to the vaguely worded Team Canada announcement that Stott and Bissonette were given a K2 spot. Mess.

But this doesn’t explain the K2 entry. So confusing.

the C2 and K2 were two of the boats that had the Americas spot reallocated to a non-Pan Am country, I wonder if that was a reason for the additional spots. It's truly bizarre and I honestly just have to accept it and move on.

I would be surprised if ICF allowed Canada to announce LVL if the spot wasn't confirmed.

I feel like this announcement was so anti-climatic after all the speculation. But yay. It’s great news.

I'm not sure why Emily Batty wasn't named as part of this team. But impressive for Pendrel to be back at it so soon after having a baby.

A - you never know what will happen at the Olympics B - in 2016 the host quota was automatically seeded at 4, not sure if that's happening this time but it would knock Zolotic down to 7th seed.

It’s gonna be strange in 2024 when Canada’s men’s diving is strong than than the women. But lots of exciting young talent coming like Fofana.

No surprises that Jennifer Abel and Pamela Ware will qualify for the 3m individual.

I watched the semi-finals of the diving trials. The men's 3m is going to be fascinating later today - Imbeau-Dulac is the most consistent, Fofana has the biggest highs and lowest lows and Ciprick is a bit inconsistent as well.

I feel like this is a bit of a disappointment compared to what it could have been but you with covid restrictions, the delay and some injuries I think we came out ok in the end. There does seem to be a lot of development and potential for the next 3 years.

That's tough to hear about McKay - I hope she is well enough to compete in synchro.

@intorontodo you know what other team Canada teams are announcing their athletes this week? I feel like there's probably more announcements to drop soon.

I mean its a bit strange that the qualification date ends on the day before the last day of the month, but that should be filtered down to the athletes.
