  1. That Mongolian wrestler was something else. There was no chance Lappage would have beaten her in a repechage either but the hope would have been alive.
  2. Watch one of the men win a wrestling medal ? Has something radically changed with the national program recently - even the 2016 result wasnt great but we had qualified more people.
  3. PB for Lucia Stafford and joins her sister in the semi-final.
  4. Yikes - she's looked incredibly nervous all day.
  5. Not terribly surprising but disappointing. She can still get through the repchage if Maee makes it to the final right?
  6. I'm so glad I kept the feed on long enough to see Ware smiling with Meghan Benfeito and coaches by her side - they kept showing her looking visibly upset and it was heartbreaking.
  7. Pamela Ware shockingly had a failed dive. It's really upsetting to see her not make the final in that way and very disappointing since she was looking really good up until the 4th round. On the flip side Jennifer Abel looked fabulous qualifying for the final easily in 3rd mere points out of 2nd.
  8. Tough draw but she has beat the Estonian athlete before. Here's hoping!
  9. Maybe Paris will be our year! It's tough - Tammara Thibeault gave it a good fight but the dutch athlete was just better - it was a tough draw. Paris is only 3 years away hopefully Thibeault will stick around till then, she's a talent.
  10. They are going to be so similar to others. They’ll be in the medal conversation just not gold.
  11. Oh yeah, the group stage. That straight sets win over Iran was what was needed.
  12. I don't know what it's like on the women's side but the sheer persistence of Gymnastics Canada to try to get Chartier to the Olympics makes me think they have confidence in him being a leader on the men's side.
  13. I'm disappointed because its another 4th place for Canada - but I'm incredibly proud of Rosie for being such a trooper through her recent injury. She's been a great ambassador for Canada. Canada has had a string of good luck in this event and I'm sad that its come to an end....for now.
  14. Absolutely - she did great all things considered.
  15. They really need to fully regroup after this - it was really pretty embarrassing. I wasn't expecting a medal but this did not look anything like the team from Rio. And Douglas pulling that off is really incredible - she could do this!
  16. Emmanuel and Bingham moved on to the semis.
  17. I’m surprised they could do this because didn’t Canada qualify for that event based on having 4 individuals qualify.
  18. I think she had the A standard from before trials.
  19. K. Smith swam the individual event so she doesn't need to swim the medley...that being said the options for the breast aren't great.
  20. Acevedo, Mastromatteo, Savard and Smith - not sure they are trying too hard with it but I hope they make the final.
  21. Well it'll be an uphill battle against the two time world champion Jorge Fonseca - although he was clearly having an issue with his thumb and looked a bit off in the semi.
  22. Shady is in the bronze medal bout.
  23. Relay lineup is McIntosh, Smith, Sanchez and Oleksiak. I’m a tad worried about China but this is a solid lineup for us. Australia is front loading with Titmus and McKeon.
