Not really medal chances but it would be good to keep an eye on the Biathlon relay and the women's downhill (Gangon was 5th in the last training run). I hope to see some solid results there.

Looks like Thenault is the only Canadian through to the Aerials final. The other two Canadians are 22 and 19 respectively (Thenault is 21), many of the other competitors are in their late 20's or early 30's, lots of promise here.

Marion Thenault into the final. It'll be a tough field but first Canadian woman in the final since 2006.

I was feeling a bit upset about the bronze in monobob but CBC was showing the race and it was so much better with the Canadian commentators and I really like Myers Taylor so its not a huge deal in the long run.

Was I being too optimistic to think this would be a silver. Better than falling off the podium altogether but wracking up the bronze right now is getting a bit disheartening.

I keep thinking about that bizarre call for China getting advanced and Canada not getting a penalty and it makes me think the judges are lining up the two countries as medalists.

This is the exact opposite of Dubois who underperformed on this years World Cup circuit. I would have not pegged him as a 2 time medalist.

So going with Olympic experience seems to have not been the key this Olympics. Jones has been terrible - I admire her tenacity to not ever give up but this is really bad.

This is a typical Canadian summer Olympics performance. Ugh this is awful. And to make matters worse we needed to see his family react.

Now Steve and Kristina are complaining that they a hard time getting in touch with Anastasia Buscis because she is too busy - I think they are trying to figure out what happened to the ice that's causing this delay.

Just terrible because the skill and talent there to force games but just can't do it. -
I didn't say it was great insight - but it was frank insight. On another a solid 9th place finish for the women's cross country relay - this was a 13th place in 2018/

Ha - it wasn;t too exciting Kristina doubled down on her theory that the Netherlands not training is a weakness and texted someone named "Scott" who corroborated this. She also said Ivanie isn't looking as strong as she did at the fall World Cups but she wasn't concerned about that for Canada. And then she more demanding to the tech people than I would have been.

I'm watching the CBC feed online and Kristina Groves and Steve Armitage I don't think realized were being aired and were being a bit frank. And then they both had technical problems.

Lots of potential for future Olympics - he's already been to one, insane. Also at the beginning of the Olympics I was thinking Canada would need to win 5 medals in Speed Skating, Short Track, Freestyle Skiing, Snowboarding and Other to get 25 medals. I really thought Snowboard would be the hardest - yet that was the first event to get 5 medals.

Me too but if the alternative is 4th places this is better.

I'm relieved that O'Dine and Grondin got the bronze here, what a stressful event. It would have sucked to be taken down and then finished with another 4th.

Canada is the only country to get two medals in Snowboard Cross despite the Grondin and O'Dine team being seeded 6th. It is a tough field though.

A disappointing day - but the solace is that we got into the hockey semis more easily than the US did AND the Short Track men's relay final. I did not watch the Short Track session but I have many questions.....

It seemed even weirder since they've done the cut away to Kelly Vanderbeek before but just did a voiceover.

This sport seems super unpredictable. I really don't think I've watched since 2010.
