That being said, I think Spain acted poorly here. Brazil and Argentina don't recognize Kosovo either but had no problems with their participation at the olympics and YOG (played anthem, displayed flag, etc).  
It's not possible to separate sport and politics completely (because everything is politic in truth), but we should do the best effort.

Lucas Adorno won a medal but his funding won't increase a cent because only the individual event matters.

The 4th goal was from a PK which was the single dumbest penalty I have seen in years. A defender was trying to clear the ball out of their area, an argentina player blocked her shot, which ended anyways in a goal kick for Panama. But the defender got angry for some reason and just like that kicked the argentinian player (!). Penalty. Wtf

I'm not 100% sure but I think it's the only recurrent participant that I have never voted.

What's the need of a government then? If the voters are just going to decide by themselves even the funding for homeless people programs or infrastructure projects... unless you are very dedicated or an specialist in politics of some kind you can't possibly know the details of all these projects.

There will be some fluke results at World cups too, this sport is 50% about how a shooter wakes up in the given day. There is no way to avoid some weak shooters to qualify unless you implement some ranking system to award ALL the quotas.
