Do you know how much they ask for one training session in Zakopane ? :d

No, jokes aside, the best, easiest option and more logical would be to just cross the river and ask for czech citizenship. He still has 3 years for that, the question is whether he will still want to continue doing this sport, because this will require maybe too much extreme effort and devotion from his parents in our current conditions around this sport

Zakopane hill complex is complete trash except for the Big Krokiew. The smaller hills are of no use in current shape. 12 year olds might train in Szczyrk or Wisla but not in Zakopane.

I’d say there is now a 90% chance that Russia will be banned from the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Fancy Bears attacked multiple anti-doping agencies (and was successful at getting some information). RUSADA was not attacked coincidently.

Yet disgraced cheaters like Justin Gatlin will be able to compete in Tokyo 2020. There is no justice in this world and never will be. Only politics and money.

And anyone who takes stats seriously knows a sample of two means nothing :d

It's more complicated than this. Sandy Koufax started 7 post-season games and allowed 6 runs. 6 runs in 7 games yet his win-loss record is 4-3. It's basically impossible in the modern day.

Bob Gibson had 9 post-season starts with 8 complete games. He went 3-0 in 1967 World Series. Again, that's basically iimpossible to replicate anymore.

Most post-season starters don't even get to 10 games in the modern era so if someone has a chance to start in three series clinchers that's a very low percentage achievement. You just don't get the big sample sizes anymore without a proper dynasty in MLB. Astros, Dodgers and Yankees are the three most reliable post-season picks which can qualify as modern day dynasties but basically in name only. SF Giants have dropped the ball lately after winning three WS in a span of six years.

I don't know which pitcher it was about, but I heard a commentator say a line like "He has an 0-2 record and xxx ERA in his career in games in which a postseason series could be clinched."

For fuck's sake, stop coming up with statistics based on a sample of two (two!) games. Jesus.

Here's the thing, starting pitchers are basically only playing like twice in Best of 7 series. Most of them don't even have a shot at two series clinching appearances. Baseball is all about the numbers these days anyway, launch angle & exit velocity must be the most meaningless stats ever. Not to mention the infamous Wins Above Replacement which compares the numbers to a player that doesn't even exist. This is just insane in all aspects.

  5. Nationals had the worst bullpen in the regular season yet still won WS. If anyone cares to look above the politics bullshit that's pretty much against the Moneyball numbers that have taken over baseball in the last 10 years. Scherzer missing G5 actually worked in their favor as Verlander has had a bad post-season all-around for the Astros. He lost the potential clincher vs Dodgers two years ago as well but Astros won it despite that. No such luck this time.

"Let's open the MLB thread now that I saw the game 7 highlights"

First thing: Trump, liberals, conservatives

    Fuck me

I know it's pathetic. I was foolish enough to think this thread is about baseball but what I learned is liberals cheer for Nationals and Astros are the villains. America is a sad, sad place indeed.

To be fair, the minute Nat’s fans booed Trump, this become a political sphere. Every liberal I know was cheering for the Nats, while every conservative was cheering for the Astros. We live in an interesting time.

I wish you would presented this argument first, instead of your original comment. The point you make here is a very good one. It’s interesting that the Astros painted themselves in a much worse light than the Nationals. I’d also say that refusing to support a team that gloats about sexual abuse to female reporters isn’t political correctness. It’s a defense of principles and of what I stand for. It’s basic human decency.

We live in a time of twitter mob rules and modern society going soft. It's called an entitlement era. It's anything but interesting.

I didn't say about this before because I was naive enough to think that in a baseball thread we'd be talking about baseball not politics. Huh, was I wrong about that one. So much for interesting times we live in. So if Nats are the heroes now how does a domestic abuse in 2015 differ from domestic abuse in 2019? Is that a matter of principles too? So if Osuna is no longer on the Astros will they be allowed to be called heroes again? Because all these liberal bozos sure forgot about Chapman when cheering for the Nats. And it only took them four years to erase the memory. How convenient indeed.

I'll never ever let politics dictate my sporting choices. Politics is pure evil masquerading under principle values. I'm just wating on another domestic/sex scandal that comes out of the Nationals bullpen and I'm very curious how will the liberals act then. Because if they swept the Chapman case under the carpet to fit their liberal purpose they can very much do this again. It's only a matter of time IMO.

Osuna is just 24yo, relief pitchers are floating around the league like crazy. It wouldn't shock me if he ends up on Nationals roster one day within the next 10-12 years

Yes, I too openly cheer and hope for the beating of woman because I am a sports fan. ?

I can understand not liking the politics around the game, but there is a line to be crossed. Domestic abuse is a serious problem in professional sports, and comments like these are not helpful. I sincerely hope and choose to believe you really don’t hope that a woman gets beat to “right” a “wrong”. I’ve over reacted before too, and it didn’t make me feel any better. It didn’t make me any better as a person, and it sure as hell didn’t make me a better member of the community.

Just four years ago then-Nationals manager made similar comments about Aroldis Chapman to the ones from Astros assistant GM about Osuna this year. And he had to crawl out of them in a hurry. But yeah, the Nats are the heroes and Astros are villains. What a bunch of crap. And I see Chapman is still pitching his ways in MLB so maybe every team that hired him should be a villlain too? Or maybe he's immune to criticism because he's Cuban so any criticism would be classified as racist? That's enough politics in sports for ya? I find it repulsive when political correctness tells people whom they should support in sports but I wonder how that applies to players like Chapman and the 2019 WS where Nationals are the folks' heroes?

The hero defeats villain in the end. It was a boring series, but it was fun to see the Nationals win. Hopefully the Olympic tournament is a bit closer.

If domestic abuse is all that matters in sports then the modern society is truly useless. I wonder when will a Nationals player start start to beating up women so this hero nonsense stops?

Mainly I think besides the toxic relationship with bobsled Canada, I think she choose the US to be closer to her husband. What kills me is how ungrateful some Canadian’s are for her achievement. She gave you two gold medal ffs!

So what? She is still a traitor. You turn your back on the entire nation because of Todd Hays? Really? No wonder people are upset. I hope the fans give her hell and then some! Narcisstic woman deserves no sympathy.

What exactly are you calling "resources"? Just oil or something else?

The geography of Venezuela/Colombia has nothing to do with Argentina or Chile's. Saying "south america" is an inmense generalization in this aspect.

Well, majority of the South American countries lists food as their top export product? Sure, there is coffee in Colombia but like 80% of the bananas I ate in my life have the 'Ecuador' sticker on them :p There's maybe 15% of 'Costa Rica' stickers and 5% from Colombia so there is that.

I understand landlocked countries like Bolivia or Paraguay have mountains and not much else. How is the fishing market in Argentina anyway? I suppose the global trade importance of Argentina & Uruguay has dropped in the 20th century since you have cargo planes and sending goods on a merchant ships to and from Buenos Aires is no longer the only travel route available.

Of course there is tourism but it's a great rivalry across the globe in that market so it doesn't stand out like Venezuela and their crude oil potential tbh.

    ??

I’ll quickly sum up what happened to one of my favorite reps. In the 2018 elections, she turned a historically red seat blue (her district includes half of town (she’s not my rep though)) in a huge upset. She quickly rose to fame in the House, and was climbing the democratic ranks. She was also known for her bipartisan work, which is a rarity nowadays.

However, a few weeks ago some videos began to circulate on the internet. It turns out that she had been supposedly having sexual relations with a few different people. It isn’t shocking because she’s bisexual, but everyone has been using it to attack her, which is completely wrong. In fact, my town’s mayor (a Republican) came out with a lengthy statement in her defense today. It’s honestly a shame to see someone attacked because they’re unhappy in their marriage and questioning their sexuality. I don’t think she should have relationships with her staffers, but I also think that we should hold the 15 or so other elected officials similar issues responsible too. Especially since we’ve decide that it’s okay for men to use woman as they please, but disgusting when a woman does the same thing, or speaks out about unwanted contact.

I love this country, I really do. I just hate to see it in this state. I honestly fear will never recover from the partisan age.

It's abuse of power no matter how you want to spin it. If Clinton got impeached for the Lewinsky affair then no member of the Congress should be held to a lower standard.

Power has no gender attached to it, period. Women in power can be equally as ruthless as men.

And the cartels, can’t forget the cartels :yes

Well, either this or allow to harvest the Amazon forest for oil. The latex boom has dried up over 100 years ago. Sadly South America doesn't have much natural resources and even Venezuela is going belly up with their oil market which is downright insane. So, it's either drugs or coffee to bring money.
