Sure enough, Smith demoted to last for impeding Maier. Bronze for Maier.
-
Naeslund wins. Duh. Thompson second. Fanny Smith was all over the place in the closing stages again but blocked off Maier for bronze.
Run under review? Probably for Smith.
-
Only one Canadian into the Big Final.
Fanny Smith almost blew it off the final jump.
-
Naeslund & Thompson into Final. Boring & predictable.

Not for the altitudes in a desert.
Altitude is an altitude, period. The excuse doesn't hold any value. Cadurisch's home town is located at 500m higher elevation than the biathlon complex. It's a terrible excuse.

Phelan takes out Edebo in QF4! They are trying!
-
Naeslund vs three Canadians in SF1. I wonder if they are tempted to take one for the team and take Naeslund out?
-
Gisin smokes Holdener by over a second!
I can't see Bassino taking Brignone for bronze.
-
Brignone takes the lead by 0,80. Probably bronze medal.
Gisin & Holdener should walk all over that.
-
I won't be surprised if we don't see Shiffrin for remainder of the World Cup tbh.

2-0 Canada. Well, this final is as predictable as it should be

At any rate, hopefully something will be learnt from all this. Maximum altitude has to be capped for endurance events. Especially if there are other risk factors involved such as extreme low temperature, low humidity.
Tandrevold had heart beat issues before. If the doctors allow her to compete despite those red flags then then altitude of the course doesn't have anything to do with it. Of course it's Norway where almost everyone has asthma yet is allowed to compete in endurance sports with TUE rescue. That is a bigger issue but obviously it's the altitude problem. Yeah, right...
Moreover most of these biathletes come from high altitude regions anyway? They should be best suited for this altitude by default

Choi wins 1,500 gold. Schulting got pushed wide with 3 to go and had too much to make up.

Yeah, Thompson landed between Smith's skis and that caused Smith to go off balance. It is what it is.
