Benolympique hold fire on this. I realise I've miscounted the number of artistic swimmers by 7 reducing the total to 181. The numbers you have add up to 183 but the number of swimmers on the team appears to be 15 not 17 excluding the two marathon swimmers which you have recorded separately.2 points -

Nice to see all these former Polish athletes in "Eurosport Team" but it means that we will have a lot of useless talking in the studio instead of live broadcasting. Oh, I hate this. The same with Polish national tv TVP. And a lot of commercials all the time. So Eurosport Player is my only hope. I hope it will work well. These two days of competition before the opening ceremony are important to check if everything works and try it all. Anyway, two weeks off-work already secured. Can't wait for the games to get started.2 points -

Great victory of against in Paris, 87-79. Ricky Rubio MVP of the game with 23 points. Pau Gasol and Alex Abrines didn't travel to France due to some small injuries, but they are expected to join the team again in the last friendly game before the Olympics against next Sunday.1 point

That's very true, also sometimes we see people work hard for many years without improving their PBs and then suddenly everything falls into place. Dimitra Gnafaki is a good example of this in the 400m hurdles and also Ioanna Zakka in the high jump. Both of them seemed to kind of stall for a few years and stop making progress and then recently got huge new PBs. Hopefully that also happens with Karalis and also some others like Antonios Merlos and Panagiota Dosi. Also this weekend we have the U18 national championships in Volos. I haven't been following too much but disappointed that 16 yo Iliana Triantafyllou isn't there. She won the U20 championships last week (pole vault) with 4.12m. It's pretty incredible how much depth we have in some events (women's pole vault, men's hammer throw).1 point
-
I think Karalis will have chances to improve in the future, as long as he stays injury free, which hasn't been the case in the last few years. Also, I'm not sure about that, but I think, during these years, he has had some coach change(s). These changes need time to work, much time for some athletes, especially if the new coach tries to change the athlete's technique and injuries don't help this process.1 point

Our boys lost in water polo. They were down 0-4 after the first period so at that point it was always going to be hard to turn it around. They lost 10-12 in the end. Playing against Croatia tomorrow for bronze. We have four medals in athletics but zero gold (three silver from Frantzeskakis, Karydi, Karalis and one bronze from Mouzenidis). To be honest Karalis has been disappointing lately, I expected more from him. His PB is from 2018. However it's not the end of the world, Stefanidi didn't improve her PB for six years and still ended up winning Olympic gold. Rowing has been going very well. We only sent 7 boats and 6 of them made finals, with 5 of them having very good chances for medals in my opinion. Anastasiadou, Arabatzi and Fragkou are so impressive. 19, 18, and 18 years old. Fragkou was born in 2003 so she's still eligible to compete in juniors too. I'd like to see Anastasiadou team up with Nikolaidou and aim for Paris together in LW2X. I think they'd be able to win a medal together. It's a shame we haven't qualified for the Olympics in that event since London 2012 considering how many talents we've had in women's lightweight rowing. Also really nice to see Christos Stergiakas come back to the national team. He won gold at the U23 Championships in 2018 and disappeared after, so it's good to see him with a chance to win another gold three years later. I'd like to see us send to Paris our biggest Olympic rowing team ever. We had 10 in London and Rio but only 4 in Tokyo.1 point

I also kinda hope that we will boycott the opening ceremony or only send the flag bearers. It's just not the worth the risk. If the number of positive cases among arriving delegation members continues to increase, IOC should considering having a virtual Parade of Nations, we shouldn't lose athletes because of the ceremony.1 point

Covid Cases at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games
LuizGuilherme reacted to Vektor for a topic
The Hungarian Olympic Committee voted in favor that every delegation member has to be vaccinated or have natural immunity from COVID. This doesn't change much as out of the 363 Hungarian delegations members only 3 aren't vaccinated or have natural immunity. In light of recent news from Tokyo the Hungarian Olympic Committee wants to make it sure that none of us will be quarantined as they already see that a positive test or even contact with someone who had a positive test means game over, without much of chance for an appeal. It's clear that many Olympic medals can be won or lost based on which nations can protect their athletes from COVID.1 point -

Kind of. Each source gives a different number depending on how they count the reserves, but if you use the basic quotas for team sports, then 321 is the right number. CSD gave 326 athletes in their list because they considered bigger teams in waterpolo and things like that: https://www.csd.gob.es/es/alta-competicion/clasificacion-olimpica-tokio-20201 point -

Would be glad, if you could send me a link to the study/survey you conducted on this matter. Thanks! Of course when you think like that, you never really have to deal with criticism, because you will always find a reason why someone else shouldn’t be allowed to criticize you. Obviously athletes from certain countries have it far easier to dope, but in the end when someone is world class, he is most likely doped, no matter the nationality. The US has dominated athletics and swimming for years, when you also take the systematic doping in other college sports and the number of American elite athletes who were caught in recent years into account, then the only logical consequence is that American sport is extremely dirty and probably not much different from Russian sport. You can’t dominate sports like athletics or swimming without doping, no matter whether you are the US, GB, Russia or China. You also can’t deny that western countries are investing more in anti-doping measures, which means that it is more difficult for western athletes to get away with doping, therefore the sentiment of SOME western people you mentioned is somewhat understandable, although of course those same people often ignore possible doping of their own athletes.1 point -

Yes, my friend, I'm so glad you said it. As you see, he's been accused of doping by users from China - who should be expelled forever from Olympics for systematic doping, and Italy - who's by no means clean. Surprisingly, no americans jumped in...so far1 point

Brazil is a big country, so maybe some fruits are exotic and hard to find where I live (Northeast), but are more accessible in the South region. Most kind of berries are exotic for me, to the point I have never eaten blueberries, raspberries, blackberries... the list goes on. Strawberries are more common, just like plums, peaches, kiwifruits and pitaya, meaning that I can find them even in a small town like mine, but all of them are not cheap, so I usually just don't pick them. For example, if I wanted 1kg of strawberries, peaches or plums, I would have to pay the same amount of money I spent in that entire fruit bowl1 point -

A picture I just took of my fruit bowl, basically all the fruits I mentioned are there Acerola juice is great, but when in season, it's so common where I live that I prefer other fruits, like guava, passion fruit, pineapple, and the basic orange and lime juices.1 point -
