My breakdown of the men’s canoe qualifers from the European Championships. The system is a bit complex, so fair chance this isn’t totally accurate. M C1 200m - M C1 500m - M C2 500m - All boat quotas filled, but 2 athlete quotas left over in C1. first in line for reallocation in C1 200m. There are no more eligible NOCs in C1 200m. However, if the remaining athlete quota place is applied to C1 500m, then it may go to . 2 athletes quota left in C2, one should go to . There are no other eligible NOCs.

Oh, I was talking about the clapping during the lead leg of the combined event in sports climbing.

So I’d only seen the train crash scene from Super 8 on YouTube, but saw the film was available on HBO MAX recently. I finally watched the whole film, and I thought it was a great love letter to 70s/80s extraterrestrial/paranormal films. I don’t remember it releasing in 2011, but apparently it did moderately well. I’m surprised it didn’t get some more critical nods. Glad the kids got some awards though. They really carried that film.

What about non-Italians? I seem to remember spectators and other teams clapping during the anthem in Birmingham.

It is surprising what a difference 50m can make. It doesn’t seem like a lot in my head, but it clearly creates a track with completely different characteristics.

I don’t know if For All Mankind is on people’s radar outside the United States, but I’ve found it to be a throughly enjoyable series. Third season started a bit slow for me, but there were some great moments and reveals towards the end of the season.

Finally got around to watching Belfast. Solid film. Definitely deserved the recognition it got.

Might be worth noting here that the velodrome at the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle (SUI) is 200m. I haven’t watched any of the track cycling yet, so I don’t how the track in Munich behaves. I just thought it was a factoid worth sharing in this instance.

How to classify this event is honestly the most confusing thing in terms of my results collection. Is it a multi-sport games or a bunch of individual continental championships? I haven’t made up my mind, so the results stay outside of my archive for now. Would be curious to know what other users opinions are on this…

I throughly enjoyed following these Games. The time zone difference and lack of an international feed (especially as there were some for the last two editions) was annoying, but overall I found this edition to be very enjoyable. Also, I think the venue branding was some of the best I’ve seen in a while.
