  1. Yes, because Ireland is known to always fade away and finish poorly in TISC.
  2. Thank you Denmark! Lithuania takes over the lead and India occupies a medal position for the first time in it's entire TISC history...it's early days yet, but could it be a sign of what's to come? Juries voted so far: 2 / 35 Next jury: Italy TOISC - NETHERLANDS 2020 Italy 17 3 Lithuania 1 14 Germany 19 2 Great Britain 2 12 Mexico 20 1 India 2 12 Tunisia 21 0 Malta 2 12 Denmark 21 0 Spain 5 11 Serbia 21 0 United States 6 10 Slovakia 21 0 Indonesia 6 10 Moldova 21 0 Romania 8 9 Egypt 21 0 Croatia 8 9 Bulgaria 21 0 Canada 8 9 Slovenia 21 0 Ireland 11 8 France 21 0 Poland 11 8 Argentina 21 0 Brazil 13 7 Hungary 21 0 New Zealand 14 6 Kazakhstan 21 0 Netherlands 14 6 Greece 21 0 China 16 4 Portugal 21 0 Czech Republic 17 3 Israel 21 0 Italy is next, @Pablita, enlighten us with the votes of the Committee leaders please!
  3. I only see a consistent scoreboard where the competition is actually easy to follow without always having to count how many nations have more points than one's favourite
  4. Thank you Israel! We take a look at our first scoreboard and with that we already see the first bit of TISC history in the early morning: Malta is in the lead for the very first time! Juries voted so far: 1 / 35 Next jury: Denmark TOISC - NETHERLANDS 2020 Argentina 13 0 Malta 1 12 China 13 0 Spain 2 11 Portugal 13 0 Indonesia 3 10 United States 13 0 Canada 4 9 Denmark 13 0 Poland 5 8 Serbia 13 0 Brazil 6 7 New Zealand 13 0 Netherlands 7 6 Moldova 13 0 India 8 5 Egypt 13 0 Croatia 9 4 Bulgaria 13 0 Lithuania 10 3 Slovenia 13 0 Germany 11 2 France 13 0 Italy 12 1 Czech Republic 13 0 Ireland 13 0 Hungary 13 0 Slovakia 13 0 Kazakhstan 13 0 Great Britain 13 0 Greece 13 0 Tunisia 13 0 Mexico 13 0 Romania 13 0 Israel 13 0 Next up is Denmark , @Agger, @Wumo, may we please have your votes?
  5. The first thing I do when installing Windows anywhere: use Internet Explorer to download Chrome
  6. I think I can say I like Chrome for literally everything other than copying things on Totallympics
  7. Thank you Israel for the points I do notice that copying is a bit problematic in, I think, Google Chrome? Somehow I've had the same issue, Firefox solves it
  8. It's 09:00 CET and as expected, we are getting underway right now! @Dnl, may we have the votes of Israel please?
  9. Calling the Netherlands Holland? Ouch, this hurts my non-Holland heart
  10. 08:00, the sun rises on the Veluwe...rise and shine people, one hour to go!
  11. Known here as 'Engelse drop', which obviously means 'English drop'. Long ago since I ate this, I should get me some since these are definitely tasty as well
  12. It will be mentioned tomorrow, but since nowadays even the mention of it is so sensitive, I tried to avoid any pictures showing the sides that are most 'discussed' (not really discussed, it's really more fighting than discussing, but alright), just to avoid a sense of "omg that's so offensive!" that would make my skin crawl (and the whole discussion about that which has really been held enough in the Netherlands, let alone an international forum) The story is mostly right by the way, although the most commonly told origin of the 'helpers' is that they were slaves who were bought and then immediately freed by the bishop, who (by their own choice of course) then employed them for actual payment and such.
  13. Drop comes in so many forms and variaties, it's just impossible to say it's either all good or all bad There are kinds I very strongly dislik, whereas there are others I very much like
  14. She is being called queen. It's not 100% official, it's what she is called (according to the Royal Family's website, which I'd say is the authority on the people of the Royal Family). She has kept her personal titles, Princess of the Netherlands and Princess of Orange-Nassau. Nobody, including me, will stop you or anyone from calling her queen though, I call her queen myself
  15. The one time I was in Amsterdam during New Year's Eve I can only describe as hell, never again I'm not at all a fan of the fireworks and explosives being set off in the days (and weeks) leading up to 31 December, but I have always liked the first hour or so after midnight, especially a few minutes after midnight when people start going outside and setting off their fireworks everywhere in town As a kid I used to go up to my room to have a look over the town first, before going outside to set off our own fireworks You've been in the Netherlands for a while now, have you heard of carbidschieten? That shit suuuuuuuuuuuucks. It makes the windows shake and ground tremble...it's mostly popular in rural areas, you know, like the exact part of the Veluwe where I live
  16. I mean the real lakes, not the small ponds inside parks and cities Yeah, those are definitely the easiest to freeze
  17. Well, whatever we call it, she is princess and she is called queen, that's just how it is It doesn't matter much and I think 95% of the Dutch people don't know it, that's how little it matters.
  18. Reports which are supported by plenty of videos of people apparently being held hostage on the roof. Although it's not sure whether it's actually got anything to do with Ubisoft, since there are more companies in the building.
